Proxy form in Parachutist

Are you planning on signing it and sending it in? Why or why not?
I'm not sure if I want to. I would have liked to see the form be a little more exact. I'd feel like I was signing a blank check.

Yep.....it is a bit of a blank check. But.....there is a pretty obvious need for change within the USPA. If they don't get enough votes they can't change things. I say roll the dice and sign it. The USPA wants to change the regions and Board Member make up. In order to do that (acording to the by laws) they must have a 10% membership vote. We have about 35,000 members which means we need 3,500 to vote either in person or by proxy. The proxy vote allows someone else to vote for you. You can get one out of Parachutist or download one off the web.

dont worry you get it way before i do!!! it takes me sometimes more than a month to get mine here on base in germany... it has to go to NY first then get flown over to germany then trucked here.. and since it's 3rd class mail it gets bumped behind letters and priority mail....... i just got the october one a couple day ago!!!!

Hmmm.....so far Clay's the only one that said he was gonna sign it. Anyone else? Since everyone knows I'm impressionable and can't make my own decisions, I need to know if I should sign it or not.

I think what it boils down to here is trust. Do you or do you not trust USPA to do what is in our best interest and in the best interest of our sport. While it's true that signing this proxy is a leap of faith, so to speak, I think we need to put a little faith in our USPA officials. JMHO
