bill2 0 #1 October 31, 2001 Unfortunately, due to the possibility of terrorist action, some airports have been shut down. General aviation around nuclear sites is now prohibited, at least until November 7. So that means Byron (in the bay area CA) is shut down, along with numerous other airports around the country. I hope it doesn't last too long. I just passed AFF and did my first solo last weekend, which felt great.

chicagoskydiver 0 #4 November 1, 2001 My home DZ, Skydive Illinois, is also shut down because of this. Fortunately, I have three other DZ's in the area to choose from, one of which I haven't been to yet. I talked to the DZO and he says that USPA is lobbying for an exception for skydiving, but even if they don't succeed, the worst case scenario is we miss one weekend.
