Ann is so nice and has nothing but nice things to say about people. I get embarrased and feel silly and I guess I can't handle compliments and called it patronizing.

i thought airann and myself were friends as well, we've known each other a long time, and ann, i have taken up for you on numerous occasions. i can't believe you "threw in with them" when it never had anything to do with you, until you involved yourself on your own accord, that really hurt my feelings, but i know you don't care, or you wouldn't have said anything at all. i'm not mad at you, it would take way more than this, but i am dissapointed. as i said in the other posts, it was a freaking joke, a satirical joke....jeez-us-h! i've never ever had a conflict with anyone on the dz....EVER. you know that, for you to bear up arms against me, it really puzzles me. i can't believe technology can establish such narcissist attitudes, it just blows me away.

Do you know Zennie at all (serious question cuz I don't know)?? I can certainly see the satirical humor in it if you guys were good friends or something.... but if you're not, surely you can see why so many people got offended by the shots you took against him (jokes or not). Technology isn't responsible for the narcissist attitudes, they exist & can be triggered by certain situations or comments. If this truly was a joke, just remember next time that it's very difficult at best to relay tone of voice, sarcasm, or anything else you may see as satirical through written media... which, unfortunately is all we have available here. but to answer your question about zennie, yes, i've met him, no i don't know him on a personal basis. but the others on the other hand, i do know personally, and i do not believe i would have been flamed if they had realized that "rgoper" is my moniker on this board. (by the way, i've been skydiving over a year, and visiting this site that long, and that was my first post) and the reaction that the posts drew was largely egotistical and narcisist, in my opinion. if you go back to the original post that got all this crap started, you'll see that myself and others, once realizing who everyone was, sought a peaceful resolution. (except for one, which shall remain nameless)
i consider myself a fairly diplomatic person, and have never started any trouble, and have never had any trouble with others. this whole incident is the very thing that takes the fun out of skydiving sometimes. cliques, skygods, egos, drinking and jumping, smoking dope and jumping...etc. (oh yeah, it goes on, i've seen it) the sad thing about the whole affair is we're supposed to be a family. every new jumper i see get on the jumpship, i always check there gear, make sure there properly equipped, etc...and there are other jumpers who do the same, because even though you dont know them, there part of our world, and we care about them. i hope this addressed your question, if it didnt, i have nothing further to add. have a great day!

If you've been lurking these forums for a year, you should already know that if you post something here it's fair game for anyone to "get involved." That's the nature of a forum. If you want to say something to someone without others putting in their two cents, say it in a private message or email.
I sure hope this group doesn't come off as cliquish. If we are a clique, it's a pretty non-exclusive one. ANYONE is welcome to post here, even whuffos, as long as they abide by the rules set up by Sangiro, who has provided us all with this cool place out of his own pocket. Those rules? Basically boils down to be nice to each other.
Yes, there is some shit-giving and joking that goes on here, just like at the dz. But here it's usually accompanied by a or a j/k or something like that, since, as Merrick said, it's real hard to convey a joking tone in the written word without such "disclaimers". Most of the shit-giving is between posters who've gotten to know each other pretty well.
Now that you've started posting here, please continue to.. just remember to be nice pull and flare,

I just got back from out of town so I'm trying to catch up here.
I dunno if I'm the nameless one or not, either way, lemme just go on the record as saying that there's no skin off my back with respect to this whole thing. You meant it as a joke. That's cool with me.
Even if you hadn't meant it as a joke, I'm not much into holding grudges (thus the quote at the bottom of my posts ), so it's no big deal either way.
