One night they booked a band called "Yukon Jack". Alot of people didn't show because they didn't care to see a live band. I went to see what it was all about.Guess who showed up? Garth Brooks! Come to find out that the band "Yukon Jack" was Garth's original band name when he started out. He was heading to LA to do the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and he wanted to play a small town club again. Needless to say after people found out and started calling friends the place was jam packed. skymama 37 #14 November 7, 2001 I'm not into counrty music, but back in the late 80's I had a friend who loved George Strait. Well, George came to our town for a concert. I was in Wal Mart, and they announced over the loudspeaker that a country music star was signing autographs on his albums in the record department. I didn't hear who it was, but I headed over there to get an autograph for my friend if it was George. I walked up, saw a guy in a cowboy hat, and reached for an album. I looked at the name..."Garth Brooks" and thought, "who the hell is that"? He was just the lowly opening act at that point, so I just walked away! I went to a show of his a few years ago, and the tickets said "No flash photography" but when the concert was starting, the announcer introducing him said "Flash photography is not only allowed, it's encouraged" .. things might have changed since then.
