Jabeln79 0 #1 November 12, 2001 Well i was at the DZ last weekend and someone was showing me a rig they were selling a Vector containor with a Triathalon 190 Fits perfect and i weigh about 180-190 so the size of the main is about right and i am still on a student Dolphin with a skymaster 230. So anything else would be better.. It does have a cypress and has less than 200 jumps on it. Money's a problem but i think i talked a family member to loan me the money i am pretty sure he will.. I have no idea about either one of these(vector/triathalon) any feed back on the rig would be helpful.. oh there asking $3300 i might be able to talk them down a little.. PhreeZone 20 #2 November 12, 2001 The Gear area on here (both the Fourms and the actually reviews) would be a great place to start. As for the price, how many jumps exactly, how old is the cypres, has the Vector had its factory service bullitin work done (if any), Has the reserve been deployed, Whats the DOM of the main and the container.what condition is the container in? All of these need taken into concideration if you want to make sure you are paying a fair market value for it.Another thing to keep in mind is can the container hold a smaller main when you are ready for it? Or are you going to have to sell everything and get new stuff again?Just some food for thought....... A rainy day at the DZ is better then a Sunny day at work
Michele 1 #3 November 13, 2001 Why don't you have a gear shop hold the money (like an escrow account), and have a rigger check it out thoroughly? And yes, post this over on Gear - you should get lots of answers there.....Ciels-Michele"What of the dreams that never die? FallingMarc 0 #4 November 13, 2001 Sounds a lot like what I just got, Vector, Triathlon... I absolutely love mine! I've had no real trouble adjusting from student gear to it either. Good questions to ask were mentioned of course, exactly how much use it's had, how old is the Cypres, condition of the reserve, etc...I brought mine in to Archway to have a full inspection done on it along with the reserve repack before I bought it too, it's only another $10 over the repack.Good luck in any case!Marc
RemiAndKaren 0 #5 November 13, 2001 is it a Vector II or III ? Big diference...I would not pay 3.3 for a Vector II based rig(still a nice rig - heck, I had one! -, but its getting to be an old design).Easy way to find out: the V 2 has velcro riser covers, the V3 has tuck flaps.RemiMuff
