MyUserID 0 #1 November 13, 2001 Hey everybody,I'm leaving my nice warm daytona beach college life to go home for the holidays in about a month. I live just outside philadelphia in perkasie. I was just wondering if anybody knows of any dropzones in the philadelphia area. Also, are they open around Xmas, and if so, any tips about jumping in that kind of cold? Stacy 0 #4 November 13, 2001 make sure you call CK ahead of time though... winter hours will be gong into effect and I know that there will be a week closed due to the holidays, etc. definitely opened on weekends, wednesday friday, but i'm not positive otherwise. 10 AM-sunset in december, wednesdays are 11$ jumps from the skyvan. for the cold- definitely gloves and liners, turtleneck-like shirt (i like fleece), full face helmet if you have one, you get the idea. =c)cross keys' manifest phone # is 888-855-JUMPStacyhttp://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks

weid14 0 #6 November 13, 2001 I think Kelly is on her way to Az (Eloy in specific) and is taking a Northern route. Stacy -- she's been hanging at the Village Idiot and Puck Fair -- I dont' think she can see straight enouhg to drive anymore .
PhreeZone 20 #7 November 13, 2001 Actualy, I think she decided to fly there.....A rainy day at the DZ is better then a Sunny day at work
Stacy 0 #8 November 14, 2001 actually i've been travelling and taking it easy recently. jumped @ the ranch a weekend, sushi night @ Yama, a spa weekend w/my masseuse, dancin' @ PollyEsthers, and well... a few mysterious things that will remain mysterious. I haven't seen the Idiot in a while, suprisingly. i DID however see your teammate wearing a Pink ProTec again though..... =c)Stacyhttp://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
Stacy 0 #9 November 14, 2001 kelly is in Eloy already. I'm not going to be there for a few reasons... car accident and saving $$ for next year's 4way season being primary. Also it's hard to get time off from a residency.. tunnel camps or turkey day.... =c)Stacyhttp://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks

Have fun jumping in the cold.....in the meantime, I'll be living the rough life right here at Deland.. Lemme guess.......Riddle?Mike

Aviatrr 0 #12 November 14, 2001 Quote Uh oh....here come the Anti-Riddle comments;-) Nope, not at all.....it's just that most people that live here in Daytona, while their family lives elsewhere, are here for Riddle.. I get questioned about it all the time......since I'm a pilot and live in Daytona, people automatically assume I go to - or did go to - Riddle.. But, naw......just live here, and happen to fly for a living....that's all.. Mike
TheMarshMan1 0 #13 November 14, 2001 Oh, ok...lol... Im not used to hearing someone refer to Riddle in a "not-bad" way. Just out of curiosity...who do you fly for?-Marshall
Aviatrr 0 #14 November 14, 2001 Quote Oh, ok...lol... Im not used to hearing someone refer to Riddle in a "not-bad" way. The only thing I have against Riddle is the price.. It's good training.. I work with many guys that went to Riddle.....but in the end, ratings are ratings, and most training is fairly equivalent.. Delta doesn't care where you did your training(unless you were military, that is) - they just care that you have the qualifications.. Only a very small amount of what you learn as a pilot comes from initial flight training.. I went to the school out in Tulsa, finished back in '95.. Ya know.....Spartan School of Narcotics.. TheMarshMan1 0 #15 November 14, 2001 Yeah...if you ask me its way over-priced, especially if you fly there. I should be done with my Airway Science degree (its an Assoicates) and all of my ratings around next year at this time. Hawker 800- Very nice!! I assume you jump out at DeLand? I'm usually out there once or twice during the week and the weekends. Maybe I'll meet up with you one of these days...-Marshall
Aviatrr 0 #16 November 14, 2001 Quote I assume you jump out at DeLand? I'm usually out there once or twice during the week and the weekends. Maybe I'll meet up with you one of these days... Yea, I jump at Deland.. Also Titusville, and occasionally Sebastian.. Watch for me.. Black/Maroon freefly suit, rig is black with maroon trim and reserve flap(Mirage) or black with maroon trim and blue reserve flap(Talon).. Either a Sabre2(several different shades of blue) or a Nitro(overall red with black ribs).. Mindwarp helmet, or a side mount camera helmet that says "Follow me to certain death" on the back.. If I'm out there this weekend, it will only be in the evening for some adult beverages.. No jumping for me this weekend, doing some SCUBA diving.. TheMarshMan1 0 #17 November 14, 2001 Alright...I'll watch for you out there... I may not be out there this weekend either- doing some tunnel time in Orlando late saturday night, maybe out there on sunday not sure yet. I have a mostly black freefly suit with some red on it, and a red Z1. I cant give you a description of a rig, since I've been jumping a few different ones lately....-Marshall
