One good thing was UT Was bumped from 6th to 3rd in the Polls and I believe they should play for the National Championship!!! We're going to clinch the Big12 so why not give us a chance at the Brass-Ring!! P.S. *poke* poke *poke* AggieDave My New Website with 24hr Chat

gemini 0 #4 November 26, 2001 You gotta' love the differences between UT & TAMU!I usually back A & M unless they are playing UT. Best game in the world would be if they were ranked 1 & 2 nationally and playing on Turkey day.Horns '74 Gemini... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ... AggieDave 6 #5 November 26, 2001 Well, I enjoyed the game being that it was my last game as part of the 12th Man and the last game as a Cadet in the Corps, so it was also my last March-In. Through the 3rd quarter, I thought we actually had a chance. Actually, I wasn't expecting a win, the way that R.C.'s been coaching and the way Ferris has been playing, but I was motivated by the Wrecking Crew's performance.Actually, I'm hoping that this will be R.C.'s last season, the talent available on the team for the past 3 years should have produced much much more then they did.Win or lose, though, I'm still a die-hard Aggie. There's a quote I like, though I can't remember who said it: "I've seen 'em win, I've seen 'em lose, but I've never seen 'em quite." AggieDave '02-------------Blue Skies and Gig'em Ags!BTHO t.u. AggieDave 6 #8 November 26, 2001 The quote was refering more to the Aggie's performance in WWII, actually (over 18,000 Aggies served in WWII, more then the combined total of all the Service Academies). But is referenced with football, usually now-a-days.It's talking about the 12th Man, also. Over 87,555 people attended the game on Friday, and even during the last minute of the 4th quarter, when it was painfully obvious that we would not win, just about all of the Aggies were still present. How many other school/teams have that kind of dedication? AggieDave '02-------------Blue Skies and Gig'em Ags!BTHO t.u.
gemini 0 #9 November 26, 2001 No doubt about it. The Aggies are the most devoted, loyal college fans around! What I don't understand though is they paid millions to upgrade the stadium which included seats (85,000?) that they never sit in...must be another Aggie joke. Gemini... Fear? jfields 0 #10 November 26, 2001 It must be so that when the upgrade the stadium next time, they'll be able to have commemorative seats to rip up and take home. JustinMy Homepage

AggieDave 6 #13 November 26, 2001 If there weren't any seats, we wouldn't have any where to sit while the pathetic excuse for a band the visiting team brings attempts to play and march on the field. (Side note: I'm not in the band at A&M, but I was in high school (a very competitive, ranked 6th in the state band) and I understand and appreciate good marching bands.) Although, the t.u. band did a very poor job on Friday and was totally blown away by the Aggie Band. ).Another side note: A&M is building a new set of stands on the south end of the endzone (where the jumbo-tron is) which will bring the attendence ability for a game to a bit over 100,000.Did you ever see the pics of the "Red, White and Blue Out" we did after the terrorist attacks? Go Here to see pictures. We accomplished that in a week, I wonder if t.u. could have ever done that? No, there would have been too many protests to being patriotic...damn liberal hippies. gemini 0 #15 November 26, 2001 Hey if I can dish it out I should be able to take it too!UT has a band? I thought the MOB was the only marching band other than the Aggies. Oh you mean those people in CB hats and Orange shirts are a band? I thought they were the auxiliary to the Texas Cowboys group. Gemini... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ... prost 0 #20 November 27, 2001 We need a playoff system. There are a few teams every year that can argue their case for a shot at the national championship.
AggieDave 6 #21 November 27, 2001 Definately, though it would be difficult to actually implement due to the different conferences and the wide range of ability and talent between them. PalmettoTiger 1 #24 November 27, 2001 I dig the idea of a playoff. I-AA does it, so you know it doesn't kill their ability to study for exams, etc. I like the BCS because it's a very broad-based assessment of a team's quality. Polls are screwy because a late loss to a good team hurts more than an early loss to a mediocre team. Computers are screwy because in the end, they're just one person's opinion of what constitutes a good football team. (we only call them computer rankings rather than "Jeff Sagarin's personal poll" because computers can make repetitive boring calculations a lot more quickly and accurately than humans.) Schedule strength is screwy because you often end up with a great team in a mediocre conference. But when you combine all three, any quirks tend to sort themselves out. So how about a playoff that uses the BCS formula, or something close to it, to determine seedings?
Watcher 0 #25 November 27, 2001 Miami vs UF , Thats who deserves to go for the national champion ships. Big 12 (and all those other conferences that have numbers in their name) make for boreing games, all they do is run the ball. Much cooler to see a 45 yard thow and see the reciever go 6 feet off the ground to come down with the ball.Jonathan BartlettFan of the ACC and SECGood in both Basketball and Football
