rgoper 0 #1 December 4, 2001 i've been noticing a lot of animosity, sarcasism, name calling, etc....going on lately. i just got through apologizing to the entire sky diving community, world wide. in my opinion, it would be a fairly intelligent decision for all of us to be "kinder, and gentler" to each other. all one smart remark does, is egg somone else on to do them one better. i'm not throwing stones here, because i've admitted my faults, and made restitution for them. IMHO it would be best for ALL of us to not put ourselves through all of this, it just isn't worth it. we're skydivers here, not howard stern and crew! personally, i grow weary of the insults, and smart remarks. i like coming here and visiting, and reminiscing the last weekends events, i don't come here to flame, namecall, or harrass. i think we need to raise the "respect bar" just a notch. after all, we are all a "family" of skydivers, with that one comman bond, we should be able to establish a better repoirt, and not resort to bad behaviour, for whatever the reason. just my .02. peace, and good will to all through these holiday seasons.Kind Regards:Richard"Gravity Is My Friend"
AggieDave 6 #2 December 4, 2001 Quotei don't come here to flame, namecall, or harrass. Happens to me all the time, though. I would have to say that it is in good fun probably 98% of the time. It's like friends at a DZ: jokes, pranks, fun, even though sometimes it may seem harsh if taken out of context. AggieDave '02-------------Blue Skies and Gig'em Ags!BTHO t.u. flyhi 24 #5 December 4, 2001 QuoteDamn, can't think of any Aggie jokes at the moment.... How about:What do a West Point Cadet and an Aggie have in common? They've both been accepted to Texas A&M.How many Aggie Freshman does it take to change a light bulb? None, that's a second year course. Nothing but love, Dave. Please don't hurt Justin for this, even though it was his idea. flyhi
AggieDave 6 #6 December 4, 2001 My personal favorite is:How many Aggies does it take to change a light bulb? 31 to do it, 1 to call it a tradition and 1 to lead the yell "Screw The Hell Outta The Lightbulb..."AggieDave '02-------------Blue Skies and Gig'em Ags!BTHO t.u. SkymonkeyONE 4 #7 December 4, 2001 Don't sweat it, Richard. Most of the name-calling, etc, is simply the posting whores racking up numbers. Just think of it as white noise. Very rarely are their real-live flame wars here. When they get out of hand, as you have witnessed first hand, then the moderator or administrator steps in and shuts the thread down. Generally, an honest question or comment posted here has at least twice the probability of getting straight answers as on the wreck, so be happy.V/RC.Blue,esquireMy webpage HERE

I'd give us at least 10:1 over wreck. "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."

That's why the Gear and Rigging, Safety and Training and Photography forums were set up.The noise levels in there are very low. If you choose to hang out in the Talkback forum then you should expect some noise. Expect the same kind of conversation and heckling you'd hear in the bar after a day of jumping! Good thing is that here you have a choice, on the wreck you have to try and filter out the noise yourself! Safe swoopsSangiro
OATSF14 0 #10 December 4, 2001 My favorite is: "What does it mean when an Aggie baby drools out of both sides of it's mouth"?.......it means the trailer is level.....
