"i dont get payed enough for either"
Dude...get a real job with some special duty pay. It's the only way to go! As a Staff Sergeant with 9 and 1/2 years in I was netting over $700 a week. That's with BAS/BAQ, $165 jump pay, $220 for ETAC rating. Plus ROMAD's have a pretty hefty bonus right now. I would have gotten around $25,000 before taxes to re-up. Just couldn't do it though.......

"ill be there in april sometime...find MOUTH. tell her to get back here once in a while"
I may or may not be in Atlanta in April. If I'm not going to be here you'll know. I'll be disappearing off the forums for a few months. Mouth has been pretty busy with other stuff lately. Good news is a couple of my favorite Free Fly buddies are back in town as of this morning!!!!! They were with the 75th Ranger BN that was in Afghanistan. They showed the plane pulling up on the news. It's good to have at least some of my buddies back home. Now I get to buy those guys some beers!

Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession. I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of the Rangers.
Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air. I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster, and fight harder than any other soldier.
Never shall I fail my comrades I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong, and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the tasks whatever it may be one hundred percent and then
some.
Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress, and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.
Energetically will I meet the enemies of my country I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word, I will never leave fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.
Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor.
Yeah.....I think that about says it....."Rangers lead the way!" There will be copious beers!!! :)"and I'm not easily impressed...Ooohh look...a blue car!" -Homer Simpson

No....I didn't come up with it. That's the Ranger Creed. Words to live by for every Ranger. I'm not sure exactly when it was written but the Ranger traditions go back to 1756 and the French and Indian War.
PS...Every man that attends Ranger school must be able to spout this Creed quickly with zero errors on demand and before entering the chow hall or risk getting PT'd to death!!! LOL
