airann 1 #52 December 7, 2001 Skymama- You rock!!Same here and with sooo many women. Thats why AirAnn.com is where it is today. Skydiving has a way of boosting ones self esteem to much higher levels. True for women as well as men.August 12th, 2001.... 11:45am.... Sonic Tom-tandemMy friend had bought a skydive for her to-be husband for his wedding present. My then bf, a Harvard educated Attorney and partner for his firm had dumped my boney ass. I was watering my front yard with the phone stuck in the hedge waiting for the lard ass to call. Then I woke up, WTF am I doing, ... I grabbed the phone and asked my friend, what the number to that skydive dealio?I called and asked what they were doing out there and I said.. wait a minute, I will be right out. Bam... changed my life. I was doing something for me and me only. Next day, tandem #2.. and so forth. Like so many of us - the next weekend I had 3 credit cards and I started with the first one and bought the whole 9 yards of the program they had. During the course, I noticed -no women. I then announced that I didnt date skydivers and everyone kicked back a peg and I was able to concentrate on my skydiving. I have to say that I was nothing special, its just that new girls on the dz do catch attention. Since that day, and many persons seeing me in my office with my *Bonehead helmet on- I have seen many a girl & guy graduate as I have lent my assistance. I am glad I can say that I have made a difference. I wish I would have saved all the letters on a disk, just for me personally to read every once in a while- but, . ... I have lost them to web bugs.*The staff told everyone I was "challenged" and I had to wear the helmet to keep me from hurting myself. Now some 325 jumps or more later - I still believe if you can jump out of an airplane - you can do anything.AirAnn of http://www.AirAnn.comMultimedia Page: secret link- upper left hand corner

TALONSKY 0 #54 December 7, 2001 Well I, back in 1990 I saw the movie “ Point Break”. I thought that the skydiving looked incredible . I had set up with my friends to do it back then, and damn if a girl didn’t come in and take all my extra money. Well 6 years later and a lot of money later I left her (NEVER DATE A STRIPPER THEY ARE JUST BAD NEWS) and a couple of years to get dept free enough to think about skydiving. I started out doing a tandem with video. When we got under canopy I was screaming to my instructor how much fun it was. He just smiled and said,” I know and I get paid to do it”. Well that has been my goal ever since that day, to be a tandem instructor along with just skydiving every chance I canBlue skiesKirk
bill2 0 #55 December 7, 2001 I had been thinking about it for years, never had the time and money to do it. My wife got me a tandem in Sept 2000, and I started AFF in May of this year. I was pretty dam scared the first jump, but each one has gotten better (14 now).

skybytch 273 #57 December 7, 2001 It was all my boyfriend's fault. We saw a demo at the Reno Air Races in '87 and agreed it looked like fun. Then in early '90 he found a dz 40 minutes from home. He did a static line without me; I did one the next weekend; that's all it took. pull and flare, lisa

FallinWoman 1 #63 December 8, 2001 How did I start?I lost 25 pounds and was looiing fora way to reward myself. I had alwas wanted to skydive, so I boked a tandem. Loved it, but someone asked me afterward whether I would do it again, and I said, "No Way!!!"Three weeks later I started my static line progression and 18 months later I am a broke, but happy skydiver!!!Anne"by stitches, cloth, and cord,...a god of the sky for those immortal moments."-Lindbergh
