AggieDave 6 #1 December 11, 2001 Yesterday I watched Pearl Harbor (the new one) and noticed something funny. The DC-3 that the fliers climb out of when they return home from the Dolittle raid has a float bar going across the aircraft above the door! Seems strange since that was supposed to be 1942 and I don't think that those were put on until the the late 40s.AggieDave '02-------------Blue Skies and Gig'em Ags!BTHO t.u. quade 4 #2 December 11, 2001 Yeah, I had a good laugh at that when the film was first released earlier this year.Hey, did ya notice that ALL of the DC-3s where the SAME DC-3? Even after they blow up the DC-3?Yep, they ALL have the same serial numbers on them and they ALL have floater bars.Paulhttp://futurecam.com/skydive.html

wceviper 0 #4 December 11, 2001 That is because most of the planes were not real, they were all computer animated. I am amazed that the film producers let that one get by. I bet all the warplanes were the same.-Jason
scottbre 0 #5 December 11, 2001 The planes that they had in the movie were real. It's just that they took the one plane and, using computers, put it into the movie as many planes. That's is why all the planes looked exactly alike, they were the same plane."Can't keep my mind from the circling sky. Tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I." quade 4 #6 December 11, 2001 A floater bar is a handle used by skydivers to hang on the outside of an airplane. They have no other use whatsoever.http://futurecam.com/skydive.html
lazerq3 0 #7 December 12, 2001 QuoteThey have no other use whatsoever.Correction, I was climbing into an Otter once when the latter went out from under me. Had I not been hanging on to the barI could of had a bad fall. The stupid part was I wasnt even geared up....just checking out the plane!!! So I would say it has 2 purposes....1. To skydive off of and 2. an emergency hold on to when the latter is falling grip!!!jason (J/K w/ ya!!!!)
quade 4 #8 December 12, 2001 I'm sorry but I maintain my previously stated position in that you are a skydiver and were hanging off of it. ;^)Paulhttp://futurecam.com/skydive.html
