potatoman 0 #1 June 10, 2014 OK, so far I cannot figure that there is a life span nor a designated time for service, unless the unit tells you so, or it has been activated. Lets take a model that is 10years of age, and now I want to sell it. Never had any issue with it. Should the next owner have any concerns? What do I value it at? 20years life span, so take current price and split that? What does it cost to have it serviced/calibrated etc? Your help appreciated. You have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to tell you how Fu***** stupid it is. NWFlyer 2 #2 June 10, 2014 I used the 20 year lifespan to calculate a rough value when selling one a couple of years ago. You (or the new owner) could send it in for service, but it's not required. Because mine was a unit that had been subject to a SB for the cutter, I gave the potential buyer the SN for the unit and for the cutter and he was able to validate with Vigil that it was up to date on the required service bulletin work. That may not apply to your unit."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. Southern_Man 0 #3 June 10, 2014 According to the manual a Vigil is required to have batteries at 10 years if they have not been replaced already. This is not much of a cost for a Vigil II but for the original I think a battery pack is ~140"What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
potatoman 0 #4 June 11, 2014 Damn I'm glad I got the 2. $140 is a bit steep. Sold on the 20year calculation, and luckily I keep my eyes on SB etc. I know it is up to scratch. Thanks peoples. You have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to tell you how Fu***** stupid it is.
