chicagoskydiver 0 #2 January 6, 2002 Before your level one jump you normally have to take a ground school class which takes around six hours or so. You probably need to make a reservation for that class after which you can do your level one jump at any time (within certain time limits). For future student jumps after that you can just show up at the dz and they'll get you up when an instructor becomes available. Hope this helps.Hackey
skybytch 273 #3 January 6, 2002 All depends on the dz. Most like it if you make a reservation for any student jump; that way they can schedule enough instructors to cover the expected student load. Some require a deposit (sometimes refundable, sometimes not), others don't. And at the dz's I've worked at, if you've gotten through the training and the weather doesn't cooperate, you're first on the list the next jumpable day.pull and flare, lisa
