skreamer 1 #1 January 11, 2002 Ok, so I know Mickey Rourke has made one or two shite movies (eg Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man) BUT he is a phuqin good actor (eg Barfly, Bullet) and has real presence on screen (you KNOW he is a bad mutha). So, I couldn't believe it when I was watching MTV (because I'm not quite 30 yet) last night and I see him in a music video for HENRIGAY IGLESIAS!!!!!! And the little snot nose bitch slaps him in the video!! Henrigay Iglesias slaps Mickey Rourke!!!! WTF is this world coming to??? This is the same guy who chained his naked gf (Carre Otis) to his harley, drenched her in baby oil, took some pics and then SOLD the pics to a men's mag!!!This was wrong, very wrong - what is this world coming to?/s

fonz 0 #14 January 11, 2002 QuoteThat's not something I hear very often.......That surprises me. In some ways, Holland's a kickass country. But in other ways, it sucks bigtime over here. And since Dutchies love to complain, you should be hearing more negative than positive things.Alphonshttp://www.liacs.nl/~avwerven
freeflir29 0 #15 January 11, 2002 "you should be hearing more negative than positive things."Well...the people I hear things about Holland from are usually Americans that visited to do lots of drinking, smoking, and carousing....So they love it... SkyDekker 1,465 #16 January 11, 2002 "Well...the people I hear things about Holland from are usually Americans that visited to do lots of drinking, smoking, and carousing....So they love it..."I hate to say it, but there is so much more to The Netherlands than just those three things. Some of those americans should try and make it out of Amsterdam one day. The problem is, you have 15+ million people on a f*(%ing stamp. It is sooo damn crowded that you are always, always around people. You earn the highest gross wages in Europe, but when the government is done with your paycheck, you have close to the lowest wages in western europe. The country is run by a bunch of socialists, giving your hard earned money to anyone willing to hold up his/her hands....I am sooo happy I don't live there anymore...Well, I am done with my bitchin', just happy to be in Canada, not in holland.Blues, SkyDekker"We cannot do great things, only small things with great love" Mother Theresa
fonz 0 #17 January 11, 2002 Quote Besides...doesn't Teluge(SP?) have a UH-1 there every day?You probably mean Teuge. As far as I know they indeed have a UH-1 there, but it's not normally used for jumping.I'm not entirely sure though. I't been over a year since I jumped there and I probably won't be going there in the foreseeable future.Alphonshttp://www.liacs.nl/~avwerven
skreamer 1 #18 January 11, 2002 Yeah, I've got a Dutch friend (medical doctor) who won't return there because of the high taxes. His father (a top aneasthetist) and brother (GP) practice in the UK as well - they say that they aren't happy paying ridiculously high taxes just to support junkies and welfare seekers (who often aren't even Dutch).Must say though, I went to the "3 October" party at Leiden (had friends studying there) in 1997 and had a total blast! (learnt a cool Dutch drinking song about girls with red hair.... /s
jfields 0 #19 January 11, 2002 SkyDekker,I agree with you. There is a lot more to the Netherlands than the vices/opportunities mentioned.I really enjoyed visiting Naarden, Bussum, Scheveningen (SP), Marken, Vollendam, Madurodam, etc. There is a lot more than just Amsterdam. I like the Netherlands much more than Belgium and France, although Ghent and Brugge are nice. Justin

Spectrejumper 0 #21 January 13, 2002 How can you not love a country that has two totally different names. Plus the term used for people from the country has nothing to do with either name. This is one of the things I think about when I'm alone and the power goes out. Mike D-23312"It's such a shame to spend your time away like this...existing."
