Zennie 0 #1 January 14, 2002 ... pilot. With all my going on about getting a Cobalt, I wound up buying a used Jedei 136. Has a lot of jumps on it, prolly around 850, but only 100 on the new line set. Got it for a pretty good price and with the job situation I figured that would be a better move right now financially. Even though it's older it's a really fun canopy. Wicked, wicked dive! Front riser pressure seems a little heavy, but my guess is that's a brake line length issue. Flare is much deeper in the stroke than I'm used to on the Sabre. Jumped it on a fairly windy day this weekend and it got me back with altitude to spare on some long spots. Also handled turbulence quite well.I'm gonna have to figure out how to deflate the thing on windy days after landing. I kept fumbling with the thing as I gathered up my lines because of the airlocks.Overall a very fun canopy, but I'm back on a learning curve again so I'll be easing into the high performance landings again. Kinda like starting over, but I like getting familiar with a canopy."Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense." diverdriver 7 #3 January 14, 2002 Hey Zennie,Grab the warning label in the center of the tail. This has been known to help deflate the canopy or at least keep it under some control. The nose will trail downwind and at least shouldn't scoop anymore air. Give it a try.Chris SchindlerD-19012ATP/CFIIwww.DiverDriver.com
Designer 0 #4 January 15, 2002 Congratulations, hard to go back to something less when you have been let loose with a "Jedei".My guess is you now own one of the original "Jedei,s" with the heavier toggle pressure. We made sure to fix that with the "Swptwing".Please have fun and fly safe. Stacy 0 #5 January 15, 2002 zennie-that's what i'm flying right now as well, a jedei 136. mine is a sweptwing though, with some other mods done by teh previous owner (who is a rigger). i've jumped the cobalt as well as a crossfire, and i'm perfectly happy if not happier with my jedei. lots of fun, just be careful. =c) doesn't take much input at all... =c)Stacyhttp://users.snip.net/~stacy

Zennie 0 #7 January 15, 2002 Quotebe careful...Tell me about it. I told Liz it's like going from a Ford Taurus to a Mustang. Needless to say I won't be doing any 180 snap hooks for a while. I'm pretty much starting from scratch again (and doing lot of hop-n-pops).QuoteDid you get a new job?Not yet but some leads are starting to trickle in. Hopefully it won't be too much longer. How's UAE?"Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."
ramon 0 #8 January 16, 2002 start double fronts then gradual carving riser turns. don't try to be too aggressive, take your time and learn the canopy."It is not a matter of if you biff, but when", Eric Boyd.ramonP.S. Regarding me Trey and Wane, we each biffed, each worse according to how aggressive we were. Wane was least (in the beginning) and got dirty and a big scare, I was most aggressive with wing loading and got my face busted up nad a big scare. Trey was most aggressive with least amount of jumps and broke three ribs.learn to slide on your ass and I would go talk to derrick at SDH alot. even when he is being condescending it is good info.Abu Dhabi is niceRuwais (where I am now) sucks
