Danhole 0 #1 January 19, 2002 Are there any DZs within 3-4 hours of Las Vegas worth going to? I will be in Las Vegas in February and would love to get a few jumps in. I remember that the Las Vegas area DZ had some problems with the USPA. If I remember they wouldn't let outsiders jump there. Also they only have small Cessnas for jump plains. Nice airplanes but not worth dragging my rig from PA to jump from. Thanks for inputDanhole

Zennie 0 #7 January 19, 2002 The Las Vegas Gravity Zone is prolly about 1/2 hour south of Vegas. It's run by the folks who run the Flyaway wind tunnel in Vegas (right next to the Riviera). If you can't make it to the DZ I would recommend doing time in the tunnel. Eeven though the air there isn't as good as Orlando's, it's still time well spent IMHO."Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense." lazerq3 0 #13 January 19, 2002 And a cheap whore at that for vegasjason
mnischalke 0 #14 January 19, 2002 If you call $700 an hour a cheap whore. And that's at the USPA prices. If you're in whuffo pricing, you're talking nearly a grand. I think I could get two hotties and a midget for a grand in Vegas.mike...red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me...

lazerq3 0 #18 January 19, 2002 QuoteAre there any DZs within 3-4 hours of Las Vegas worth going to? Dan I think people have answered your qusetion. thers is Elsinore and parris approx 4hrs away, Jean (which I believe is gravity zone) which was 1/2hr away, mesquite will have a plane there the 8,9,10 which is approx 1.5hrs away and then there is the windtunnel in LV. What more do you want. Hell we even threw in some midgets and whores for a fare pricejasonall theses palces are very good from what I've heard

chopchop 0 #21 January 19, 2002 Yes - for great dzs within 3-4 hours, Perris or Elsinore. I went to the dz in Jean 2 weeks ago. Nice people but it is a small 2-Cessna dz and it is a little pricey. $19 to 10k. OUCH!, now that's expensive altitude.chopchopPD makes canopies all day long, you only have one life, when in doubt, cut away...
pdj6p 0 #22 January 21, 2002 In reply to chop Jean does normally operate just small cessnas but after the 10th of feb. sky dive saltlakes caravan will be in jean for pretty much the rest of the month. this will be due to the olympics grounding all general aviation flights in utah for feb. so enjoy our misfortune.
