krispy 0 #1 December 19, 2001 Hey all,Just found that Stefano's putting together a web site for that craaaaaaaaaazy 16F9 flick he showed at the Flyboyz Film Festival this year. It's got a brief trailer that touches you in some dark places...http://www.16f9.com/Steve

quade 4 #4 January 23, 2002 Technically interesting, but . . . uh, WHAT THE HELL -WAS- THAT?!?Call me old fashioned, but I personally like a story. This was just a bunch of effects and some of them were -quite- disturbing. I'm actually quite liberal when it comes to art, but this . . . eh? He seems to have a mastery of effects and I applaud his work on THAT basis, but he really needs to figure out how to use them to tell a story and not just for shock value or to be artsy fartsy.Yeah, yeah, all great artists are misunderstood.quadehttp://futurecam.com

Anyone know how it "did"?Doesn't look like it won an award, but I did find mention of it at the following page (toward the bottom):http://www3.sundance.org/filmguide/templates/php/filmnote.php?FCode=MAYYYx#shortSteve
SudsyFist 0 #8 January 24, 2002 QuoteTechnically interesting, but . . . uh, WHAT THE HELL -WAS- THAT?!?Call me old fashioned, but I personally like a story. The film blindsided me (as well as the rest of us) at the Flyboyz shindig, but I enjoyed it. Yeah, it's tough to even attempt to draw a typical movie-like story from it, but I think the intent was more like taking you for a senso-emotive ride (visuals, effects, WEIRD SHITE, soundtrack, etc.).One of those things where you have to surrender your expectations (and will) to get into, I s'pose. Or just look at differently (comfy smooth ride in a Mercedes vs. open mountain roads in a Vette). There *is* a story buried in there, tho; it's just waaay open to viewer interpretation.
