Ok everyone, here is my situation, any usefull suggestions would be much appreciated.
I need my own gear, desperately. I would like to have it by March when I will start working full time at my dropzone. Now, I don't have a high paying job and so I can't save up very quickly for it, the whole thing will cost about $3000. I applied for a loan at my credit union the other day and got turned down because, not long enough at my job, not enough credit history, and not enough income. That hurt. I can't use my credit card because the limit is $1250 and I can only raise it every 6 months. What to do, what to do. I thought I would consult other poor people to see how to get a loan easier or another idea. Thanks.

Screw the cypress, atleast till you have money later. Just get something that's safe and still fun for you. I'm in the same boat with you right now, I have a swwweeet deal waiting for me if I could only get the money together. I need to figure out how to raise about $1500 in a week (ever see Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels?) and I could have it...but NOOOO my student loans didn't leave enough for that after school and books. Well, I guess it's time to start donating plasma and selling stuff I own...

Actually no and Texas state law allows the people who use your sperm to come find you if they have one of your kids. Frankly that's really damn scarey to me.
Now, if you want to make money, girls can sell eggs. They get anywhere from $10,000 to $30,000 an egg. Imagine the rig you could buy...

You posted a very similar message in October. I will tell you what I think. Brace yourself.
To start, I am kinda lost. It almost seems as if you're cutting away before you have anything to cutaway from.
Working at a DZ? As a full-time job? And you still expect to live, jump and have money for equipment as well? Did you get smacked around much as a small child? Any high-speed big wheel impacts with sliding glass doors?
Here's my number one suggestion (but I know you won't have a thing to do with it, so more follow): If you have a skill/education, use it and get a real job like the rest of us. Play all you want on the weekends and forget what you do in your "other life." If you can't do that, I think that you may have gotten into something that you weren't ready for. This shit is expensive.
These may be more to your liking:
You are typing on a computer? sell it.
Have a bike? sell it.
Have power tools? sell em.
Have video games? sell em.
Have a camera? sell it.
Have anything else (other than a tent, sleeping bag, two pairs of socks, two pairs of underwear, two black shirts and two pair black pants)? sell it all.
Know a rich gray haired fag? become a boy toy.
Other than that, good luck with the new job...

Best advice you'll ever get christopher. Only thing I'd have to add is if you don't have an education and/or marketable skills, go do whatever it takes to get them. I wish I had. I'm very happy with the job I have now but I still can't afford to jump as hard as I'd really like to. And there were many very lean years before I got this job, trying to support myself and my kid on teaching FJC's and packing mains and reserves... didn't make many jumps either.

I kind of know how you feel... I had to sell my rig in November cause of a little personal emergency. Anyway, I'm getting the money together right now for a new one and it sucks! I'm just living off of the absolute bare minimum ( I mean it.), I'm selling most of my other hobbie related equipment/toys (snowboard, entertainment stuff, etc...) and then I'm adding the 1200 I'm getting back for taxes to put some icing on the cake! It's been a rough couple months, but that first jump on the new rig will be that much sweeter cause of the work I had to put into getting it!
