Quantico Vacation...

Recommended Posts

Oh shut your mouths & stop bickering! Mike...be usefull & remove the piece of velcro off the flap of your rig! I feel like I'm in a bar standing btwn 2 drunk sailors telling a sea story! :-) Dave, I'm sorry to hear about you having to wait another year for OCS. So, will you get your commission directly from there? If you get a direct commission...that will be awesome...because you'll be in top shape for TBS. Overall, everyone was in shape...but the guys fresh from OCS were smoking us on the runs. While you may not be able to run a fast PFT, your build is better suited to going long distance w/ a pack on your back (I refer to your type as pack mules)! Guess what...you'll be smoking out the 300 PFT'ers @ TBS on the "Endurance Course" (also known as the yellow brick road). I used to consistantly get a 299 the first 2 years (back in '94). But those days are long gone. Luckily, my new command loves to run...so, I'll be back in the 285 range. If you have any questions or need anything from the Quantico area, let me know. Keep your goals & standards high, and you will never fall short.
*Talk about a small Marine Corps! Right now, I'm serving in a Navy command...I ran into 3 Ensigns whose instructor @ OCS (Navy OCS) was my DRILL INSTRUCTOR @ PI back in '94! Thank god he wasn't @ OCS (in Quantico) in 1999...I don't know if he would have had any mercy on my soul!

Sweet! Well, right now it looks like I'll be commisioned directly at OCS, that sort of depends on what kind of classes I can get over the summer and next year, since I'm sure you know about those 2 classes you need to graduate that are only offered every 3rd year or something like that. :)Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom.-General George Patton-

William,
I'm not at Quantico anymore...I'm stationed out near VA Beach for Intel Officer school, but I have family in Fredericksburg...so, I'm still in/out of the area. What are you doing now since you've been recalled? The cool thing about being at Quantico you are about an hour away from SD Orange or Louisa. You'll love Orange! :-)

Is he a MECP at A&M? I don't know most of those guys, since I'm dealing with the OSO and they work through the NROTC department and the NROTC department isn't apart of the Cadet Corps. If you get a chance to talk to him, you might want to tell him to look up the Aggie Skydiving Club (jumpout@hotmail.com). It's a fun group. :)Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom.-General George Patton-

Sorry I couldn't stay earlier, but it seems as if yall were just about to weigh dicks. So since I know you don't want me in that conversation, I am glad I left.
I may never have pulled an 18-min three mile, but no one other than my Senior DI ever beat me over the Ocourse. I don't recall anyone going under my time on the endurance course either. And what's this talk about crunches? Crunches? WTF? Fags. God damn, that means I have eclipsed into the Old Corps. Ahh the good ol days--hanging out in the swamp (3rd Bn. to you Hollywood Marines), playing in the sand for hours, and those six punches to the chops I took for cleaning the wrong part of the rifle at that given time. (let it be known, I could have ended it after one, but me being all hard-corps, I kept popping back to the position of attention. Thank you sir, may I have another?)
Seriously, Diver, Aggie is going to OCS so his road will be a different one all together. He has three months of pt followed by seven (Majdi, am I correct?) hanging out in the field at TBS. Gotta love those green lieutenants of Marines. Back to the yellow brick road at TBS, I ran that thing once with cameras, snapping pix the whole way. Freaking killer!!!!!! Awesome shots too.
Majdi, stay off my back about the damn velcro. I am gonna stick my dog on there some day and take her for a ride. When are you coming back to Orange next?? You missed some good fun and the warmth of a 5-gallon bucket of jet a courtesy of Shmike after you left.
Prost, Louisa is a ahh, ummm, it's another place, but you shouldn't worry yourself about it when Orange is so close to you. Once you jump the Otter and party with the Naked People, you will be calling it home. You'll be saying, "I remember something about a state that begins with an A, but I'm not sure..."
Semper Fidelis and peace out,
mike
A bucket of Jet A can heat an entire county if burned all at once.
