Meaning of Life

Recommended Posts

Hmm... I kind stopped thinking about everything else since I started skydiving, so that's a good question. I think that in general my goal is to go through life without compromising my values, and to continue following my dreams. (I also kind of wanna be an FBI agent.)

Learn to BASE jump, compete in the New York State X-games in the next couple years, pay off my rediculous collection of student loans, maybe finish a degree, get my CFI, find a girl who will put up with me, move to a warmer climate ASAP, travel a lot, make just enough money to live and...well....thats just about it, except:
I know you said "besides skydiving"....but the thing I want to accomplish most in life is to make my living from skydiving...

I used to work as a Support worker for many years with people with disabilities, I'd spend hours learning diffrent signs for diffrent meanings, I think I'd like to learn just to communicate with people, speach, sign, whatever it took.

Well, I've already accomplished one of my big goals - supporting myself in the sport I love. Will be accomplishing another in June when my son graduates from high school and goes off to begin his own life. To be a world record holder... but you said non-skydiving related.. ;)
Other than that... my major life goal is to be thought of as a loving, caring, giving and happy person who lives every day to the fullest.

There are a couple goals in life that I'm striving for right now. 1. The Marine Corps. Just a little bit more college, to go... 2. Texas Girl. Hopefully, I'll be lucky enough to find a good texas women who shares the same feelings for me as I do her...
Number 1 will happen, number 2? Well, I hope so. :)Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom.-General George Patton-

Simple really,
Have a good live, with a good family, bringing hapiness to all.
Yeah, I know it sounds cheezy.
So far I've got number 1. A good life. Skydiving is a big part of this.
At some point in my life, I want to have a good family. This means a wife that I love, and a two kids that aren't screw-ups.
As for the third point, I've brought happiness to myself. Again, skydiving is part of this. I'd like to bring hapiness to the people around me. I'm still working on this...

Besides skydiving....
I want to be a good person, and do good things. I always want to keep learning. I want to do work that fulfills my idealistic sensibilities. I want to have a family. I want people to be glad to know me.
But I also want to have fun! And lots of it, damn it. :)Walk a mile in your enemy's shoes. Then you're a mile away and have his shoes.

Plans for this year anyway:
buy a house hopefully WITHOUT having to sell my gear! :)That would be cool. I'm making an offer on a house today! In Frederick MD.
This has always been a major goal for me. When I was growing up my Dad didn't own our house, we always had a landlord, so, aside from the tax savings, etc., this will be the first time I've ever lived in a house that wasn't owned by a stranger. B| So this is a major landmark in my life that has a lot of significance for me.

Before skydiving, my love was traveling. I want to work for international aid (so I can make a difference--cheese!!), and travel because I love it--but not too much travel, I have to have priorities --in a muffled sneeze-skydiving-.
The mind is like a parachute--it works better when it is open. JUMP.

Emma, Skymama, JKA, the list go's on & on & on.

Cool, I made someone's list!! :D
I want to make it through my kid's teenage years without them dropping out of school, becoming druggies, going to jail or getting pregnant. Besides that, I just want to have a life that I am happy to wake up to every morning.

I have actually accomplished almost everything I've ever wanted to do in life. The last thing on my list is to go to Hawaii, and i'm doing that in May. Other than that, i'm just happy to wake up every day, be loved by my kitty, and skydive.
Take a chance, or forever wonder...

I want to be a baseball player, and an astronaut, and a jet pilot, and a spy, and a...:D
Seriously though, I want to play and sing in front of a huge crowd of screaming teenage women, but only if whatever I'm playing doesn't suck. That is my goal. So apparently the meaning of life is doing stuff that doesn't suck, in order to have sex.
