nws01 0 #1 February 9, 2002 So after a year in Naples, Florida I decided that it was boring and my former boss decided that I went skydiving too much so needless to say my decision was to move. I have tried Orlando for three weeks and needless to say I went skydiving instead of looking for a job, however, I accepted a job in Virginia in which I will be traveling to Washington DC quite a bit and will be based in Virginia.Anyone from this area? I know Richmond has a great dz but what about some of the other ones that are closer to DC?Just asking.Nathan
SkyDolphin 0 #2 February 9, 2002 Skydive Orange and Skydive Virginia are in the Northern VA area. There is also Hartwood Parachute center but I don't know much about that one. Skydive Orange has a pretty big freefly community so I hear. And I think Skydive Virginia has a Casa. I actually moved away from that area 4 years ago so I haven't been to either in a while but they both have websites.http://www.skydive-virginia.com/http://www.skydiveorange.com/Rhonda

Humph.Either way, I'm glad I'm part of the USA that did NOT want to be its own country. That is patriotism. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook. nws01 0 #11 February 9, 2002 Uh oh. It seems I have some reading to do to educate myself on this part of the country. I guess I was asleep when they talked about all this in History class. I am originally from Illinois though. I have been making my way around the country. This is one of the perks of being in the hotel industry I guess. I do have every weekend off now so I can skydive without getting in trouble with the company I work for. Oh well. I am going to Lake Wales tomorrow before I head back to Naples to pack up. Will be in Virginia a week from Monday and will hopefully be jumping "somewhere" the following weekend. Maybe we will cross paths.Nathan
MiataDRM 0 #12 February 9, 2002 Hey Nathan. Welcome to VA! What area are you going to live in? My 2 favorite drop zones here are Skydive Orange which is close to DC & N. Va. Skydive Suffolk is the other and is located closer to VA Beach. Both have a great staff and a fun crowd you'll adopt as family. PM me if you have any questions.Blue Sky & Semper Fi**I'm a Pschydiver!Majdi
mnischalke 0 #13 February 9, 2002 Skydive Orange is my home. I will jump at other DZs when I am traveling, but if I am in NoVa, I am at Orange. Nobody mentioned we have a Twin Otter and a couple Cessnas. I think Orange is balanced between RW and freeflyers with frequent RW big-ways. Let's not forget the ISP started there and that the editor of Parachutist and the USPA director of communications both jump there. The new hangar and landing area is coming soooon.Majdi is almost right. They adopt you.Plus, a whole bunch of them spend shitty days shooting. Who could ask for anything more? skydiving shooting buddies who like to get naked.Try it. You'll like it...mikeA bucket of Jet A can heat an entire county if burned all at once.
