Skydive Center in Ocean City, MD?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone heard of / jumped at / knows anything about the skydive center at ocean city maryland? The website doesn't give me much info - says they have the newest planes, yet doesn't say what type. Gives all kinds of prices for students yet says nothing about experienced. On top of that it says something about making appointments.

My girlfriend found the site, we plan on going to Ocean City during the weekends this summer - would be cool if I could jump in ocean city. I know Salisbury is somewhat close, and i've heard of them.

Forget Ocean City. They are a Cessna-driven tandem factory. I called them to go and make some fun jumps, and the response was, "We only do tandems, no fun jumpers." They seem like they just want to sell tandems as an amusement ride to summer beach visitors.
Near the area you are visiting, try Skydive Delmarva. It is a nice DZ. I haven't been to Salisbury to comment.

I made my first jump at ocean city. They didnt have their own plane(s) but hired planes for the day. They had 2 182s the weekend of my first jump. They were "supposed" to get a kingair but the plan fell through so plan B was the 2 182s. But, a new DZ is going to open there, run by the same people as parachutes are fun. Not exactly sure what they'll have for planes and facilities, but I at least think it'll be open to fun jumpers. They'll probably have access to a kingair some of the time. If you get the chance to jump there, the view was great. The airport is right on the beach. Have water equipment though.
By the way, if you decide not to jump at ocean city, I suggest skydive delmarva in laurel, DE. It's only a little to the west and it's probably the best DZ in the area (although I've never been to parachutes are fun in salisbury).
