Jessica 0 #1 February 11, 2002 I'm gonna be at SkyVenture for the tunnel camp from March 7-9, and I was wondering...if anyone...could maybe....PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE pick me up and take me to a DZ, any DZ on the evening of the 9th, a Saturday. That's USPA Safety Day. I'll be done with the tunnel camp at 5 p.m. and will be READY TO ROCK.Your reward will be a paid-for jump with me and beer. Other requests will be entertained. I'm also trolling for a ride back to the airport on Sunday night (flight leaves at 6 a.m. Monday) but I'm less optimistic about that. Thanks! If you get someone else local, grab them because I don't know Orlando. Otherwise we could probably hit(try to find) Deland. I'm driving up to Orlando from Lauderdale. skymama 37 #8 February 11, 2002 It's really easy to find Deland from the tunnel. Just get on I-4 East (you can see the tunnel from the interstate), and drive until you get to the 3rd Deland exit. Go to www.skydivedeland.com for specific directions from there.Go to Deland for good jumping, but don't go there for a real exciting nightlife...they don't call it "Deadland" for nothing. weid14 0 #12 February 11, 2002 OK, since Andrea can be somewhat "directionally challenged", It's like this -- I-4 east (make a left out of the tunnel, an immediate left on to Universal Blvd, first right on I-4 east). towards Daytona. drive as fast as humanly possible to exit 54 (route 44), it's a right off the exit (exit loops around), west on 44 to Kepler road. right on Kepler to International SPeedway blvd (route 92), left on 92, about a mile, a right into the airport. can't miss it. You may be able to get a ride from Geoff, Laura or Mike. they are jumping on a 4way team and will probalby train at DeLand, they all work at the tunnel. Since it's an "aipseed camp" (I'm assuming), none of the regular coaches from DeLAnd woudl be there, otherwise it's a snap to catch a ride with them. I can get you out to a DZ, but I doubt I'll be awake enough Sunday to bring you back. Realistically I think the day in the tunnel will probably wipe me out.You can email me at mmealman@tarsis.org when you get a better idea on what you want to do(you're gonna need to check to see if you can sleep at the DZ, etc).I was planing on going up Saturday night, but only because I'd be bored in my hotel room otherwise. Don't have a problem coming up earlier to swing by a DZ near Orlando, kinda want to check them out anyway. Just let me know a little beforehand.
