WooHoo! NASCAR's back!

Recommended Posts

I just tried calling my friend from AL who came down for the race, and I couldn't hear a thing she was saying because of the noise from the cars. I can't imagine what it must be like to actually be in the stadium!

beats f1. you sit in the woods or on a street corner, every 5 minutes, a car goes by, half of them look exactly like the other half, 24 cars start the race, 5 finish it... shuemacher wins ... yawn... :)"Jumping out of planes for the thrill of it all."

With the intimidator gone I am not as interested in the sport. Actually right here in Nor Cal we got one of the few road courses that Nascar does. It's a sweet race. Also right near Perris is the California Super Speedway. It is a beautiful track. I would love doing some demo's into a nascar race.

Goin' to my first NASCAR event on Sunday. Startin' off with the granddaddy of them all, the Daytona 500000000. At least, I'm a bettin' that's how it's gonna seem.
Why am I goin'? Cause I'm a giver. She wanted to go and I'm a fixin' (notice how I'm gettin' into character by droppin' by "g"'s?) to give up a weekend's worth of jumpin' for it. And she bought the tickets.
Monday is President's Day. Wonder if Deland is open. Hmmm........
Just take it one day at a time, like the drunks do.

Then there is that whole thing about right-hand turns....

watkin's glen new york and sear's point california. the main thing i like about nascar over f1 is competition. f1 doesn't have any. your average nascar race generally has fractions of a second between first and second, with 10 or so within a second or two. f1? hardly any passing, maybe half the 24 or so cars that start actually finish the race. i'm sorry, but i'll stick to nascar. i like the european touring championship's as well, better format than nascar in a lot of ways. :)"Jumping out of planes for the thrill of it all."

Given a choice, I'd rather be skydivin'

Me too...and like the t-shirt says...
"Nascar Drivers are wimps. I can do 200+ mph standing on my head"...lol. And if you have the t-shirt, check the name on the freefliers jumpsuit......(just turn it upside down...lol.)

NASCAR---- Drive for hours to sit in traffic, pay at least 25.00 to park walk a mile to the gate only to be told "no you cant bring that cooler in to daytona international speedway". After paying over 100.00 (or more) for the pleasure of sitting on a metal seat less than 8 inches from the person next to you, you get to pay 5.00 for a beer. Watch the cars go vroom vroom vroom for a while, well that was fun. File back out of the track along with 500,000 other people, hike your semi-intoxicated (now broke) ass back to the car to sit in traffic for HOURS; in order to get back on the interstate to go home. NAAAAAAA, Ill skydive!!!!!!!!
PS any of you who are comming to the race and want some idea of the best way to get around the Parking/traffic let me know I may be able to give you some advice of what to expect.
PSS True statement, they are NOT allowing even medium size coolers in to the track this year due to security issues. Be prepared to have your property searched on the way in to the track. And remember there is ALWAYS skydive Deland!
