There is so much stuff i have to do for my A....

Recommended Posts

yesterday when on my 17th jump, i was going to sneek a no contact two way in so i could get some practice matching fall rates, but the boss man Adam (formor british parachute team) wouldn't have any of that. When i get on the ground after another "boreing" solo i snag a copy of the A requirements and holy shit it looks like i am gonna have to do atleast 3-4 more jumps after i hit 20. unless i get some of my buddies to sign me off on some of the small stuff. next jump is a hop-pop and i will try to hit the pees for one of 5 landings within 20 meters.

20 meters - that's like 60 feet. 60 feet from a target is a circle with a diameter of 120 feet. That's HUGE. Are you sure you haven't been within 60 feet from your target yet?
Most of the other requirements you should've done in your training program, like learning to pack and, 360 degree turns in freefall, etc.
What else are you missing?

Probally the delay then hooking up with the JM. I think its 150 feet of seperation you have to close.(Don't quote me, i have'nt looked at an A card in months). Another is the vairing fall rates. You have to deminstrate how to increase and decrease your fall rate with an instructor or coach.

i think maybe twice i have gotten close. but i have to do it 5 times!! I havn't done a PLF (never had to), havn't done riser turns, havn't done riser dives, havn't packed a main without assistance (i packed a tandem chute once but it took 30 mins and constant help), don't know what a manufacturer recommended owner service on a canopy release system, never changed or adjusted a closing loop, never spotted. I realize some of this stuff is small beans but its alot of beans!!

Hmm, things have really changed...I don't remember requirements about changing closing loops & manufacturers whatever...
I'll give you this one tip re. accuracy landings. I had problems getting those together when I was aiming for the peas because there'd often be too much traffic there already as I was coming in & so I'd have to turn away.
So I just established my own target: I put a white frisbee on the grass far away from the peas, so I'd always have a clear shot.
