SniperCJ 0 #1 February 18, 2002 This weekend I got some keen insight into the mind of the skychick. This guy (who shall remain unnamed, but we'll call 'Bob') decided he wanted to jump his skychick girlfriend's canopy. We''ll call the skychick, well...Skychick.So, Bob gets on the load leaving Skychick on the ground. My group was out on the creeper pad dirt diving when there was some commotion and looking up into the air. Get out there and find that someone has had a cutaway. Well we can all see the main streaming away from the DZ and no one sees the freebag. After a couple second someone identifies the miscreant and says "Thats Bob". Skychick hears that its her boyfriend Bob with the cutaway and in typical skychick fashion, plaintively wails "Ohhhh, my canopy!!"Forget about poor ole traumatized Bob! But my poor poor canopy!!Damn Skychicks!HeeeeeBlues!CJ
SkydiveMonkey 0 #2 February 18, 2002 If she'd jumped it, the cutaway would have happened anyway. D'OH !! You shouldn't put a knife in the toaster - but you're an adult now !!!

SkydiveMonkey 0 #9 February 18, 2002 If you're going to pack a mal, surely you'd do it for someone else? You shouldn't put a knife in the toaster - but you're an adult now !!!
Pammi 0 #10 February 18, 2002 ROFL! Yeah so? Now she'll have to wait for the rigger to repack her reserve on top of things! Damn men ...don't know how to pull stable! Hehe! J/K!Closing pin jewelry
skycat 0 #11 February 18, 2002 shut up...I resemble that remark....my new to me Stiletto 97 was use for the 2 out test. All I see from the ground is canopies spinning....then chop, ok Derek under pretty green reserve and my new baby and that pink monster are all tangled together still spinning and flying who knows where.....Hop in the car and go chasing my main which just had to land in some brush. My poor poor baby.....I haven't even got to cut it away myself and the bf took it out to chop it.*pout*

Emma 0 #13 February 18, 2002 Yeh, well I'm a skychick (in a broad sense), and the same thing happened to me when my boyfriend (we'll call him Skybloke) jumped my rig....So, Skybloke had a mal (packed by a packer, not me, thankfully), cut it away, deployed the reserve successfully...The difference was Skybloke got caught in turbulence rolling over trees and ended up with a shattered ankle, 2 plates, 7 pins and 6 months +++ of being a bit fucked up in the leg department.Who gives a shit about the canopy? Someone takes a mal for you, buy them a beer and be glad it wasn't you who had to deal with it! (The bastard could have paid for the reserve repack though!...although....he was off his head on morphine when I got it repacked so I guess he gets let off...Bloody men)The moral of the story: 'not all Skychicks are the same...and neither are all responses to, or outcomes from, malfunctions'Moral 2: 'Don't lend your stuff to blokes anyway cos they always break it or lose it' (I thought this was obvious?) freeflir29 0 #14 February 18, 2002 "in a broad sense"Hmmm.....are you on the Hinton 4 way team?'Don't lend your stuff to blokes anyway cos they always break it or lose it"Yes....We are genetically predisposed to this sort of behavior.
