AggieDave 6 #2 February 18, 2002 My average normal relaxed BTE is around 135 (in a normal RW jumpsuit), I really want to see if I can borrow someone's Pro-Track sometime to see what I can get if I arch it out hard..."Alright, at 4500 lets break it, turn 360 and track away..." ltdiver 3 #3 February 18, 2002 Yikes! I don't even think I could reach that speed going head-down! :^)How about how -slow- can you go? I got clocked by a Pro-track doing 101 last year! :^)ltdiver__________________________________________http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

AggieDave 6 #5 February 18, 2002 Slow? Geez, I don't really think that's possible for people like me without a wing-suit..."Alright, at 4500 lets break it, turn 360 and track away..."
Jimbo 0 #6 February 18, 2002 Quotepro-track verifiedThere has got to be a better way to verify vertical speed than a ProTrack. I'll admit that a ProTrack is a good tool for an individual to guage if he's speeding up or slowing down over the course of several skydives, but the instrument is not accurate. Was he wearing it on his leg, outside his helmet, inside his helmet, on his chest strap? What did everyone else ProTrack say? I've been on jumps where I was level with my partner and the differences in PT readings were upwards of 30MPH, both units set to the same airspeed, I can't remember if it was SAS or TAS. Either way, it's a great tool I think for an individual, but there has got to be something better for getting true speed readings.-Jim
ltdiver 3 #7 February 18, 2002 Dave :^)Yeah...I'm a light weight (have to wear 16 # of lead when I video my 4-way team). As for the "who can go the slowest" challenge that clocked me at 101 see:http://www.futurecam.com/skydive/010217/index.htmgrins,ltdiver__________________________________________http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

Ducky 0 #18 February 19, 2002 Fallin fast??? um not me...I have been accused of changing my mind and trying to reboard the Otter at altitude! When i broke off from the Magic Carpet Ride at Mardi Gras i tried to fall my slowest and just watched everyone fall away from me. Almost everyone actually disappeared into little specs below me. I looked back and below me in my track and could see everyone's canopy opening a good 5 seconds before i pulled.kwakStupidity is a crime.
AndyMan 7 #19 February 19, 2002 Funny, I've never bothered to see how fast I can go on my belly. I'm always trying to figure out how SLOW I can go, because going low sucks and I'm tired of always being base.I'll have to give it a shot next time I'm in shorts weather..._AmICQ: 5578907MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

Zennie 0 #21 February 19, 2002 QuoteSolo tracking dive in a freefly suit... ProTrack said 90mphI'd have to go back & look but I think my tracking dive was in the 90MPH-ish average range too. I'll have to do one for a solo one of these times and just see what kind of number I come up with."Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense." Zennie 0 #22 February 19, 2002 OOOoooo!!! OOOOoooo!!!Here would be a good one! Biggest spread between fastest & slowest!Max: 225 head down.Min: 99 tracking dive.Diff: 126 MPH.I use SAS in my ProTrack BTW."Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense." Viking 0 #23 February 19, 2002 well i see i am not the fastest here! the only # i have is 150ish TAS so that like what 135-140 SAS. but i can make you guys do a tripple take in freefall!! LittleJumper 0 #24 February 19, 2002 Ok...call me silly, call me ignorant..but how & why do you fall faster or slower? I think i read that if you're heavier...slower the fall. But what about the jump suits? Which ones make you fall faster & which ones slower? What you "think" you cannot do ...you CAN if you "think" about it
