lazerq3 0 #5 February 22, 2002 WOW...Thats a pretty hard core statement..........I must say though myself skydiving is something I love , have a lot of respect for, and await every weekend. But skydiving is what I do. ITs not who I am!!!! With or without it I'll still be the same person. But hey to each there own!!!!!Blue skiesjason

Zennie 0 #8 February 22, 2002 Quotewhy are you depressed?Oftentimes it's a medical condition. Circumstances just amplify it. Of course, being a medical condition, it can be treated with medicines. skybytch 273 #10 February 22, 2002 freebird... depression is nothing to mess around with. I lost a friend to suicide because he was depressed and didn't get help. I don't want anyone to have to deal with the pain his death caused us... Please please please... talk to your doctor, talk to a counselor, talk to a shrink.... talk to someone who can help...for your sake, your friend's sake, your family's sake, your daughter's sake - make a phone call tomorrow and get some help. Life should be good, even when you can't jump. There is hope. Get some help.pull and flare,lisa--What would Scooby Doo?
PhreeZone 20 #11 February 22, 2002 Uh... after a major surgery you will be grounded for probally 4 months at the min. Complications during surgy are even longer. If you are on meds for depression or anything, Doctors get real leary about pulling perfectly good organs if you need meds to stay stable. I'm surprized your boyfriend is a perfect match for your organs. It's usually rare to find a perfect match outside one's blood family. As for skydiving... if you can't live without it, you need to get help and straighten your life out before coming back, if you decide to after getting your life back and off meds (if needed)Cause I don't wanna come back down from this cloud... ~ Bush
lazerq3 0 #12 February 22, 2002 .Quote I just can't focus on jumping now.I'm not trying to sound mean here but skydiving should be the last thing on your mind right now if your having all those problems. Your first priority should be your little girl. I mean I dont know whats going on but sounds like you need to get some help for yourself before you can do any good for others and I hate to say it but if you dont eat and suffer form malnutrition they wont take your kindney cause you'll be to weak to be opperated on !jason
freebird 0 #13 February 22, 2002 I know. Im o blood type. Im a universal donor. I want to do this. He will feel so great to have a new kidney. The longer you wait ........the more sense you get.
Jessica 0 #14 February 22, 2002 Hey,I know what you're going through, and skybytch is right. You really need to get the depression treated. It's a sickness that's hurting you just like your bf's kidney problem is hurting him.E-mail me if you want to talk; I unfortunately have a lot of experience with this. I know why you feel like you "need" skydiving, but you can be fine without it during the layoff. Oh, and Phree -- you can have a great skydiving career even if you're downing antidepressents. It's the depressed people who aren't being treated who shouldn't be jumping.

PhreeZone 20 #18 February 22, 2002 Being an O blood type has little to do with organ donation. The genetic history of the donor and reciepient must be close enough that the body thinks that its its own organ. i.e. A person of Middle Eastern decent's organs are not near as compatible with a Native American's organs as another Native American's.If you are serious about donation and you are the same genetic type, you'll probally be placed on strong meds to get the organs ready for removal. What type of surgons have you consulted about kidney removal? There is a lot more then just a snip, snip to kidney removal. If either of your kidney has scar tissue you are not eligible to donate any more due to possibility of kidney failure. (My father only has one, well informed on the signs of failure/donation since I was a small kid)Anti-depresents wreck havok on the kidneys and the entire body in terms of altering the chemistry. I know my Grandfather was unable to donate to my father upon his death due to the type of meds he was on.And Jess.... I know of a Skydiver that is depressed and seems to forget to take their meds everyonce and a while.... I'm always scared about that person jumping. Being on Med's while jumping is fine as long as someone else knows what you are on and knows how to look for the signs of missed doses/over doses.Cause I don't wanna come back down from this cloud... ~ Bush

freebird 0 #23 February 22, 2002 The coordinator said me having o blood type is a plus. Im starting my testing next week at a good hospital here in Houston. Im getting my hopes up about being a good candidate. I also need to relize I may not be. But Im so willing to give him a kidney, I will trade mine for one that does match his if I have to. I pray we will be a good match. He will be on anti-regection drugs to help. The longer you wait ........the more sense you get.
