rhino 0 #1 February 22, 2002 http://www.lsfileserv.com/index.htmlGo here and download ADWARE 5.62This is a program that finds and kills hidden programs in your computer that do things like tell uncle sam where you are surfing, it finds the programs that send your passwords to people, and other good things. A friend of mine at the FBI told me about it. This is what the FBI uses.RhinoBlue Skies and Smooth Rides!!

PhreeZone 20 #3 February 22, 2002 Bahahaha...... those programs are a joke.... just learn to not go to those sites and do some basic editing of your TCPchains and possibly through up a dymanic proxy firefall and your set for the majority of the stuff. And in terms of spyware.... there is nothing prebuilt in to the major OS's that is spyware, everything is installed by the user. Just more proof that the average computer user will install anything as long as it has a cute name.Cause I don't wanna come back down from this cloud... ~ Bush
quade 4 #4 February 22, 2002 QuoteA friend of mine at the FBI told me about it.Not to sound too paranoid or anything, but isn't that exactly the kind of rumor you'd expect to hear from the FBI if they wanted to make a program to -snoop- on you?I mean, how perfect would THAT be?The Government starts a rumor that you -need- a program to protect your privacy and suggest you down load it from some shell company. Meanwhile, the shell company is really a part of the Government agency and hidden within the program is file snooping software that allows -them- greater access to your files.I mean, geeze, just look at this recent piece of crap floating around the Windows Media Player and -it's- reporting back to Microsoft -your- listening and viewing habits!I'm NOT making this up folks! Check out; THIS STORY AT CNN Ok, maybe it does sound a little paranoid.quadehttp://futurecam.com
Pammi 0 #5 February 22, 2002 Quoteand do some basic editing of your TCPchains and possibly through up a dymanic proxy firefall Um, that's all well and good, but a lot of computer users are not necessarily computer geeks who know how to "just" do that sort of thing...installing a program is a bit easier for them.Closing pin jewelry

PhreeZone 20 #8 February 22, 2002 Yeah... the WMP licening thing is a bit fishy, but I've sniffed the packets and while its encrypted data, its only a few packets so what ever its sending is'nt that large of data. And actually.. .thats only installed on XP or the later versions of 2000 by default.I'd be far more worried about Mourphus then I am about WMP sending out unwanted data... since it does have its own built-in web server and file transfer ability Cause I don't wanna come back down from this cloud... ~ Bush
rhino 0 #9 February 22, 2002 It isn't an FBI sanctioned program.. He uses it on HIS computer.. You don't have to be paranoid to be smart.. Spyware can be installed in attachments, emails, pretty much ANYTHING you download or install.. And you WON'T know it is happening. Their is another thread in here about AOL email getting hacked.I can send you a program attached to another program "you won't know it" and I can watch everything you are doing. I set up spying software for numerous companies as a part of my business.. Yes, you might be observed at work without even knowing it. I can sit on my home computer and watch anyone that works for me and they don't know it. And the programs ARE NOT RESIDENT.. You can't detect or un install them..RhinoBlue Skies and Smooth Rides!! PhreeZone 20 #13 February 22, 2002 ANYTHING can be detected if you really look for it. Memory resident programs are easy to find once you know what you are looking for. Key loggers are almost as easy. And any type of Trojan.... look for what is using resources. And in terms of piggy backing something... my personal fav method is to use the comment area of JPEG files to carry the portion of the code i want to run on the PC. quade 4 #15 February 22, 2002 QuoteIt isn't an FBI sanctioned program.. He uses it on HIS computer..The post was a semi-joke. I realize the FBI isn't sactioning it. However, if they wanted to spy on you . . . like I said in the previous post. The fact is that unless you unplug from technology and go live in a shack in the middle of nowhere, there's really not a lot that you can do to maintain a 100 percent secure and private life. However, the flip side of this is that there is -so- much information available, that the -average- person has nothing to fear unless he's actually doing something wrong because nobody has the time required to sift through it all to look for the minor indescretions. Hell, the government can't even keep track of KNOWN terrorists, let alone folks like you or me.Then again, it's probably not Big Brother you need to worry about -- it's Little Brother, your next door neighbor or spouce with too much time on their hands.quadehttp://futurecam.com
rhino 0 #16 February 22, 2002 99.99 percent of people out there do not know what you are talking about. This is a simple program that can be used. I use it and so do alot of computer people that I know.RhinoBlue Skies and Smooth Rides!!
wildblue 7 #17 February 22, 2002 Ad-Aware (not adware) is a nifty little program. If you use Kazaa, it'll find the spyware stuff Kazaa puts on there. Once you tell it to remove it, oddly enough, Kazaa stops working. Hmmmm....http://www.cexx.org/ is a nice litle site explaining some of the spyware/adware stuff that's out there.Never argue with stupid people. They just drag you down 2 their level & beat you with experience
