DZ proximity

How far do you live from your home DZ?

Depends on the exact day and time you're talking about.
It's ALWAYS the same distance -- 57 miles.
6:30 am Saturday going to the DZ it's almost exactly 1 hour. This is with some longer remote segments being driven in excess of 90.
7 pm Sunday coming back from the DZ -may- take two hours because of traffic returning from Las Vegas et al.
7:30 am on a -Monday- returning from the DZ (let's say I slept over and now need to get back) it -could- (and has) take(n) as much as THREE hours. I'd totally blow it off except ya know, there's that work thing happening 5 miles from my house.
Ahhh, the Santa Ana Canyon and the 91 freeway. What a piece of mismanaged crap. It even has toll lanes that are -supposed- to get you through it quicker -- they don't -- way stupid.

Driving about 80mph I can make it in about an and hour and ten min.. what we all do at Archway is if your going to be out there for Sat and sunday and you live as far as most of us do.. we all get a hotel room.. MUCH more economical than driving back at 10 Sat night to return at 8 Sunday morning.. Not to mention with four people in a room its only $10 a person... and who knows what FUN people you might meet at the good ole Vandalia Bars...

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
Stay off of Toltec Road as much as humanly possible!
If you are travelling over 25 mph you will be given a ticket. The locals consider it to be a residential street and the posted and enforced speed limit is 25. They have a cop that sits there all day just to bust people. The cop will even admit to that!
Now, where I'm from, this would be a 45 mph road at the very least and my guess is that where ever YOU'RE from it's probably the same. Don't be fooled. At over 20 mph above the speed limit in Arizona they can not only write you a nice hefty ticket, they can impound your car and haul your ass off to JAIL!
It's a perfect speed trap for skydivers.
Only my good looks kept me out of jail.
