FallingMarc 0 #1 March 2, 2002 Just woke up from a freaky skydiving dream... it's really cold here, and I was considering what to wear, and ended up jumping in shorts and a T-shirt. Climbed out of the 182 over Archway with Tina and one of the JM's for a 3-way RW... and for some reason, we couldn't figure out the count, so we were on the step for a minute or two before I got fed up and just shoved them both off. We all went into an unplanned sit/stand freefly, and I'm relieved by the fact that it's unusually warm, even in shorts. Now comes the freaky part... I turn and track off, then look down and they're both tracking under me, the same direction. I turn around, and they follow. Oh well, I decide to just pull and hope for the best, and as I dump, it crosses my mind that I didn't do a very thorough preflight gear check. I look over my shoulder at a PC in tow, and think, chop, reserve. Freakiest part right here: I can't move my arms up to my chest. I don't know why, but I can't bend my elbows enough to pull either handle. I'm screaming at the ground, hoping I turned on my CYPRES, then I'm in a fast-food restaurant talking to my little brother.I told you it was wierd. The pilot chute came off...I threw, nothing happened....looked over my sholder and the pilot chute was about 100 feet above me with nothing attached to it. I pulled the reserve and came out under canapy just in time for a stand up landing. I dreamt I was trying to do barrel rolls under canopy and fell into it I remember cutting away and pulling silver and watched the reserve come out. The canopy was the most vivid yellow I've ever seenStill a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest.... I made three or four jumps one day. I fell asleep that night and was started dreamind about freefall. I was in the stable arch position and I started to go low. I awoke arching on the bed...jumped off it and started my emergency procedures.I went to the dz and Hans Paulsen was my Instructor that day. We were briefing and I described my dream. He said he had a dream and he burned in and woke up wiggling (which he showed me). It was funny as hell. We dream about our loves and compassion. I had a dream that I was in freefall and I realized I didn't have my rig on, but I wasn't scared. When I wanted to slow, I just had to put my arms and legs out like a parachute, and I would stop. I was doing all sorts of freeflying moves, and was asking myself why I never tried it before--it's so easy! (right..) and so when it was time to put my arms out for landing, they wouldn't move!! They were stuck to my sides and I knew at that point -kind of- that I was in a dream, and I thought if I died in my dream that I would really die. I then saw myself fall to the ground and explode into fire. Then I (the part of me that was still alive??) threw my arms out to land and didn't even have to do a plf! I landed and was like, oh I so have to do that again! So I did, and practiced more freefly--that stuff is so much fun! I know I really want to do it now. Well, now you all think I am a f***ing wierdo, but I really enjoyed that dream. it was so fun. sweet dreams all!The mind is like a parachute--it works better when it is open. JUMP. Any way as one of the guys in the four way had a cut away,, and never pulled his reserve and landed right infront of me. I though for sure he was dead but after i call an ambulence i go over and he is just laying there telling me how great the jump was and that some how he couldnt cutaway, he was laughing about it.Another dream i was back tracking and somehow forgot to pull so I hit the ground on my back just as 2 other people land by me under their canopies. I thought i was dead but I just looked up at them and started shaking their hands. I love skydiving dreams. Coupla nights ago I dreamed we were launching a big way out of the side door of a HUUGE aircraft. We had like sixty people standing in a row at the door.
