My previous comments re: SDC

Last week I posted a rather vitriolic rant about an incident at SDC last Saturday.
I made a few errors in judgement with that post, and I want to clear those up. Specifically, I want to apologise to Roger Nelson, the employees and jumpers at SDC - many of which I consider personal friends.
One of the things that make this sport special is that we have the ability to fire off emails to practically anybody in the industry and get a good response. I understand this is even more true with Roger and SDC. It was innapropriate for me to air my concerns in public before I took them straight to Roger. I should've given him the opportunity to respond first.
Secondly I want to apologise for the tone of my posting, as I re-read it now it does come off with a far more negative tone then was appropriate.
Thirdly, in my post last week I mentioned that I believed the injured jumper drove himself to the hospital. He confirmed to me on saturday that my belief was false. An SDC staff member in fact did take the injured jumper to the hospital.
I had a very good and candid discussion with Roger Saturday night. I found him to be very responsive to my concerns. He was also frustrated with me that I chose to post my concerns here, rather then take them straight to him. Suffice it to say that I commit to having a little more tact in the future.

I, too, have gone off on Roger in the past, and found him to be pretty reasonable even in the face of my ranting. While I disagree with some of his methods, I do admire both his willingness to discuss issues with people he disagrees with and his track record on student training.

everyone jumps the gun once in a while! its cool the roger was cool. even though the rep of his dz was at stake. its also cool that you made thing right by re-posting this. but its also cool that you were concerned about another jumpers so um...i don't think your gonna burn in hell. 9weel not for this anyway)
btw i remember some of that post and i dont remember an angry tone to it....

Yeah, I'm impressed with Andy actually, for coming back and admitting himself to the community. I really don't like DZ bashing on the forums and I'm glad to see that Andy came back and rebuttled his previous post. Some people would have let it go, to slide into 'net obscurrity with out narry a word.

I also want to thank Andy for this. Met him over the weekend. Nice chatting with yah. Glad you got to speak to Roger. I knew he would be interested in talking with you. And not to tell you that you were wrong, but to hear your concerns. And thanks again for doing this.
