lazerq3 0 #1 March 4, 2002 So I had a question in a diff forum about loosening the chest strap all the way (No not off just to the stop) and I thought ok this weekend I'll try it!! Well I Threw out ,watched a Safire 169 snivel for what seemed like an eternity (guess I shouldnt have rolled the nose so tight ) and then when it came time to loosen the strap I jsut couldnt get myself to do it!! I know I'm not going to fall out but it just didnt feel like the right thing to do!! Anyway just kinda frustrated right now so I'll have to wait to the next jump and try it again!! jason

freeflir29 0 #3 March 4, 2002 It is sort of a strange feeling the first couple times you do it. I like to leave 1-2 inches because...yes....I do have a fear of falling out of the harness. PLus....what happens if something stupid goes on after you are open and you need to cut away. I like to make sure it will stay on through another free fall if I need it. You'll get used to it...."I only have a C license, so I don't know shit..right?"-Clay
SkydiveMonkey 0 #4 March 4, 2002 Don't loosen it off all the way - leave some there. You'll get the same performance gains but you'll have the psychological [sp?] gain of the strap being there. You shouldn't put a knife in the toaster - but you're an adult now !!!

Never packed ZP before and figured I'd jsut pack it like my old chute .....BIG MISTAKE!!Yeah Ogden opened up this weekend so I was jumping out there!!! Beautiful day ,,,little on the cold side but still great!! I think the hole chest strap problem might have allso had something to do with it being my first jump in a month and a half ,,but we'll see!!!jason
AndyMan 7 #6 March 5, 2002 We've all got our weird hangups.I just loosen my chest strap until the tension comes off it. This usually means there's a good 4 or 5 inches extra beyond the buckle. The hangup I had for a while was bringing my slider down over my toggles. I was always paranoid that it'd get stuck over the toggles._AmICQ: 5578907MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
