Im still doing the transplant. I can not get my blood pressure down. It was 152/105. Im 5"1 AND 100 OR SO POUNDS. Any ideas on how to get it down> I have to where a 24 hour b/p cuff tomorrow. Im trying to be a potential donor of my kidney for my boyfriend. Then he is getting me a rig.

I assume you are under the care of a doctor - he's a better one to ask. Since one possible cause of high blood pressure is kidney damage, and since persistent high blood pressure can actually _cause_ kidney damage, you might want to ask him sooner rather than later.

I hope you aren't doing this for the wrong reasons. Haveing gone threw the tests and possible complications that can happen later in life for my Mom when there was a time that a kidney transplant could have helped her. I hope you have really thought about how this will affect your health farther down the road.

I have never had high blood pressure. The stress of this whole ordeal and other thinghs in my life may elavate it some. I will not be able to be considered a potential donor unless the 24 hour monitor proves I do not really have hypertension.

Elevate it some???? the above B/P is not healthy for anyone....and B/P is not dependant on height/weight.....skinny people have strokes all the time due hypertension....just cause your skinny doesn't mean your immune from hypertension....

I think that when the transplant nurse took imy b/p, I was nervous. But she said being nervous should'nt make a normal b/p of 120/70 shoot to 176/101. I went back a second time it was 152/105. Im doing a 24 hour b/p monitor to see if I really have hpertension This device is strapped to me all night and takes myb/p every 15 min.. If it turns out normal readings I can proceed with the transplant tests. If it is indicating I have Hypertension I can not donate. :( Im going to be very disapointed for my boyfriend who NEEDS my kidney.I will know Friday.

You should be asking your doctor this and I hope you said the skydiving rig part in light humor and is not the real reason behind this.
