OH MAN, I just got back from my spring break in NEw Orleans, what a hoot!! I had the best vacation ever. It wasn't even Mardi Gras, and there was still a party in the street every night! I had a hotel right in the middle of everything, and it was amazing. Anyone here from New ORleans, I want to complement you on your amazing culture. I guess being from good 'ol Grand Rapids, MI leaves me feeling sheltered. From this trip, I decided I am moving south after graduation, for sure. I am pretty sure I want to live in Texas, you guys rock! I met the most awesome people from Texas. So, I guess I am still in shock from going on the best vacation ever (and I didn't even get to skydive :( ) . Anyone else go on vacation?

sorry to hear about your unfortunate situation (living in mi)(i'm an ohio boy myself)....shoot, i knew i should of made the 3.5 hour drive over to new orleans....or at least the 2.5 hour drive to gold coast skydivers....oh well........maybe next weekend......course ya won't be there....but.... i can still jump my ass off in ms..............

Yeah New Orleans rocks. Great food, great music, great architecture.
I spent two days just walking around with my camera.
And yeah, I'm a midwest to Texas transplant myself. May I recommend Houston?

All I remember from new orleans is lying on the side of the street with my friends laughing at me after drinking my second hand-grenade (try a couple, you'll like them) Oh and a really cool dance club called the dungeon which only opened after midnight...cool city

yah, actually, I was wondering which city in texas would be good. I probably outta do a bit of looking into this, but I am pretty sure that is where I want to be. oh, I can't wait for graduation--only one more semester....

that would have been nice to have such a short drive....,mine was 20 hrs on the way there. We hit a snow storm on the way out of mich.. actually it was just lake effect snow--it was scary. The only way my trip would have been better was if I could have jumped, but it still rocked.

I stuck with the hurricanes, which prob was not the best. can't taste the alcohol, but it's there! I actually fell on my back in the middle of the dance floor, talk about horrific embarassment. I just got up and kept dancing.

lmfoa- i CAN picture that mary-ive benn to mardi gras twice. with a few friends. what a blast. another of my buddies lives down there eventually im gonna get back there. it is an great place.
oh yea what is it with all you texans between 20-30? you all love nirvana or what? so far every texan ive met around that age cant go without listening to them? hmmm
getting high is fun, but coming down is the best part

as a kiwi/ aussie,new orleans was really something else.wot a place!
the river walk in san antonio is also really cool,and san an is really a nice place,(also the alamo is there,which, even being from somewhere else ,was a place i felt a real sense of history).
texas is great! had a ball in pecos!

i wa sonly in san an for 4 months but yea i wouldnt miond going back(actually alomst got stastioned there again, but they gave my korea instead)
getting high is fun, but coming down is the best part
