Newbie 0 #1 March 11, 2002 I didnt think this was really very possible, until i read the post about someone was going to do a "stunt" to show newbies what the consequences of not having your chest strap up were.I mean, does anyone know any actual statistics about how many fatalities as a % have resulted from people falling out of their rig? I know im new to this, but its got to be one of the most uncommon occurences ever hasnt it? Has it even happened before? What else (besides securing your chest strap) will stop this type of mishap, or is it just a case of securing the chest strap? Thanks all

SpeedRacer 1 #4 March 11, 2002 I think it was in 2000 that two people died because they didn't buckle their chest straps.Speed Racer"Fill your hand, you son-of-a-bitch!"

He is maybe 135 drippin' wet super-skinny guy and was wearing a rig for a 6'1" jumper that was 225. The yoke (shoulder width) was almost wide enough to slide out and he nearly did. Also worth mention is some of the older stainless steel friction adapters on legstraps slide out a bit, which could put you out of reach of your toggles.Further, friction adapters on leg straps installed incorrectly, threaded incorrectly...-Hixxx"Sous ma tub, Dr. Suess ma tub"
 cloudseeker2001 0 #10 March 12, 2002 it seems to me that mostly females fall out of their rigs from improper chest strap.....i have cought one myself on the plane! check the fatalities page for years past. i think about 4 in the last 4 years.
