Question for the geeks.

I recalled it back from my days working on software for a comm sat used by the Cdn Gov't and Armed Forces (and some civilian customers), it was a sister company to Telesat - TMI Comm. - aside from any scheduled downtime on Sunday mornings from 3 to 4AM, we were mandated to have an uptime of something like 99.9998%, it was an obscene requirement - but needed for the application.
My understanding is that if extreme stress testing of the software/hardware can cause it to fail (in a manner that the software cannot correct without outside intervention within the spec timeout for the protocol such as T7 for MTP2) even once over a period of a month - it MUST be fixed before being considered for General Access Release, otherwise it is an Early Access Release, in effect a Beta, and cannot be put into a production system.
And I thought you sales guys would claim it worked 100% of the time, cleaned windows, and took out the trash - whatever it took to secure the accounts -> to get the commision (and cause hell for us engineers) ;)
