...but I am still too caught up in a cataclysmic afterglow to tell you about it. Plus I haven't slept in four days. Every time I closed my eyes I was flying in the tunnel and couldn't drift off.
My God, you guys, I learned to fly this weekend. I started out on Thursday ramming into the wall every time I tried to enter the tunnel...and last night I was playing high-speed tag with a tunnel rat.
I am so damn happy. What a great experience. :)

90 minutes with Airspeed coaches (the coolest, nicest guys on the planet, btw), and 10 minutes uncoached. :)Only the first hour was included in the base price, but I couldn't resist adding a little more time. It was so expensive I want to cry, and I was by far the slacker of my group. Almost everyone else bought at least another hour or so of extra coached time.

Uhn, I'm jelous. I got 20 minutes the first day of my tunnelcamp. Then 2 hours in a doctor office back home getting xrays the second day of tunnelcamp and sitting at home my third day(today) waiting for my arm to get better.
Was sorta like my old SL crash and burn training but with more freefall time :D

Oh my God. What happened? Are you okay? Something happen in the tunnel? Are you going to get any of the time back?

I badly pinched the median nerve to my left arm, the xrays were to make sure I didn't slip a disc in my neck or something. I took a spill in the tunnel, sorta dearched on entry by looking at the floor, flew way up, hit the wall and went head down and landed on my left shoulder and arm. Got it on video :)But before then my arm was starting to get numb anyway. One of the coaches thinks I'm pinching a nerve when I arch and lift my head back, because he has a similar problem. The fall probably didn't help. It was frustrating because by the later part of the day Alan was trying to get me to do things with my arms(really get them down into the wind to control my fall rate) but my left arm wouldn't work properly.
That was day one, on the morning of day two my arm was still just as numb(and just not working very well) so I took myself out of the camp and went home to see a doctor. It really really sucked walking into the trailer and telling those guys I was out. I hate quiting anything I start. Felt like a heel.
They have to pay for the tunnel time even if it isn't used, but Alan really went out of his way to book my open slots. He filled my second day, but I got stuck with the third.
My arm's still numb and weak, but getting better. The doc said it isn't anything I need to worry about in the future though. If it happens again I won't do any permanent damage or anything, so it's cool to skydive.
