Remster 30 #13 March 15, 2002 Though u left already! lolVery good (and big portion) foie gras at the Cardinal (funky interior too) on corner Grand Boulevard and Haussman (Metro Grands Boulevards). I really like that restaurant...Cheap food by the bushel in the Sorbonne are (metro St Michel) close to the Easy Everything internet shop. good Couscous and Grek stuff there (just wonder the streets and pick a place.. you'll get harrasd by the waiters to come to their place with offers of free aperitifs). Ther are a few cool Alsace, Bretagne and other local spots in there too. A few bood Creoeries Bretonnes too (thin crepes)If you feel cultured, please go see the Louvre. Pick a corner and spend 1/2 a day in it. You could easily spend weeks in there, so pick! PS: If seing the monalisa is your thing, go, but you might be dissapointed).Do not buy a coffe (or anything else) on Les Champs Elysee unless you are OK with being riped off. If you want to impress (get a table upstairs), LaDuree is real nice, and allthough expensive, its not that bad (Metro Goerges V)Tourist spot that are worth it: Monmartre (Metro Anvers, or any other around there), especially if you go with a lady friend. very romantic place fro dinner with the Sacre Coeur light up at nite. And you go by urself and feel lonely, the ladies of the nite of Pigalle are just down the hill if the weather is nice, jarding Du luxembourg are nice, but at this time of year, I'd pass.Pere Lachaise cimetary: I love that place. If you know a bit about french authors, poets, famous philosophers, and all around dead people, its worth a few hours. Jim Morrisson is there too, though I found that part of the cimetary the most awfull (lots of graffity from assholes visiting his grave)Notre Dame is beatifull, but dont pay to visit the underground acheological Caves (entry in front of N-D), not worth it in my opinion.I'm not a clubber, but from what I understand, the Paris niteclub scene is very snooty, not as open and coll as London/Manchester (from what I hear.... correct me if you want u kids...)Metro and other mapshttp://www.citefutee.com/orienter/plans.phpAnything else?RemsterMuff
bbarnhouse 0 #14 March 15, 2002 I DON'T want to go! Sorry love but Paris was not one of my most memorable excursions. I was highly disappointed in the Mona Lisa and had the worst French onion soup (should have been called grease soup). Well hummmmm if I pretended to be one of the twins.....might be worth going! LMAOHave a great time.....CheersOh and take your own tp..hahaaaaaaIt only takes a little pixie dust......

They do have some architectural features that are pretty cool. The Louvre was built upon the remains of an old castle, and you can explore those. Very cool.QuoteTourist spot that are worth it: Monmartre (Metro Anvers, or any other around there), especially if you go with a lady friend. very romantic place fro dinner with the Sacre Coeur light up at nite. QuoteNotre Dame is beatifull, but dont pay to visit the underground acheological Caves (entry in front of N-D), not worth it in my opinion. Are you refering to the caves running through Paris, the ones lined with bones? I forget what they were called... During the period of the french revolution, they ran out of cemetary space. They just started piling up bones of the dead in underground tunnels. Definately worth seeing._AmICQ: 5578907MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
Remster 30 #16 March 15, 2002 QuoteAre you refering to the caves running through ParisNo. You're talking about the Catacombes. never visisted them. The entry to them, I think, is aroud the Jardin du Luxembourg. I was talking about a small cave under the parvis of N-D that has some remains of the walls of some 12th (I think) century houses and buildings. Small, and boring. The catacombes are on the list of others things I want to check out.And for food in general, I'll agree you're better off outside of Paris. But in the city, you still can find good stuff for a reasonable price. Outside Paris, still good stuff, but cheap...RemsterMuff
