n2skdvn 0 #1 March 16, 2002 after being in an accident this past week. i started thinking about what had happened an noticed one thing.if i had not been wearing my seat belt i would have smacked the windshield that little piece of webbing kept me from injuryi remember looking on my truck after the wreck and noticing that every thing that was not tied down ( computer bag school books) were in the floor board. they became projectiles during the impact!!!when we are in the plane most of us wear our seat belts( i hope)but think about your helmet, camara, skysurf board ect....make sure you and the thing you take with you are secureon takeoff in case of a crash . if not you or your equipmentbecome projectiles!!! seat belts save liveshave fun !!!be safe!!!!!!!!!!if ya can't dodge it RAM IT !!!!!! ltdiver 3 #2 March 16, 2002 Good post. When I visited a small dz in Finland they didn't believe in seat belts (didn't even have them installed on their Cessna 206). When I asked about where the seat belts were, they just laughed and said they weren't needed.Sad commentary to say the least, since I come from a dz that will remember the 10 year anniversary of one of the worst skydiving crashes on record this year. Date April 22, 1992.If seatbelt had been in use, lives might have been saved...projectiles -are- deadly!ltdiver__________________________________________http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

bbarnhouse 0 #4 March 17, 2002 Most DZ's require you to either wear your helmet on take off or have it secured to your chest strap. Furthermore, seatbelts are rquired......NO sharing! Now then if you would bring your tray tables to thier upright and locked positions......It only takes a little pixie dust......
