Memorial Day at Eloy?

Recommended Posts

Where is everyone planning on staying? I would just as soon "pitch a tent" but I'm trying to keep my amount of luggage to a minimum. Nothing like trying to drag 4 tons of crap through an airport. Oh...and before I forget...Who wants to snuggle? :)"I only have a C license, so I don't know shit..right?"-Clay

Do I sense a DZ.com gathering at Eloy?

We could eat that record for a tasty chewy treat.

Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups!!! I'll be there!!! :D

I'm seriously thinking about this "Gathering" it can't be a DZ.com "Gathering" With out Slappie :) and I enjoy driving.. at night mostly.. but I think we could drive it through.. I used to drive to San Diego straight through in 24hrs at least 6 times a year... Had a best friend stationed there in the Navy and we would make trips just for the hell of it... nothing like cruising through the Az desert at 3am stoned jamming to some funky music :D hahaha....
Only thing I need is a rig to jump if I don't buy one between now and then. This is starting to sound like FUN I think skycat, Tequilagirl, hooknswoops {aka pookie bear} are planning on the trip too. Wonder if we can get zennie, ramon and a few others on the idea...

Square2 has lots of demo canopies... Just remember folks - the msl altitude (ground altitude) is a bit higher at Eloy than many of you are used to - add in some desert heat and that demo canopy is gonna fly quite a bit faster than you are used to. No skydiving injuries are allowed during a dz.com party weekend!! ;)

woo hoo...the one good thing about living in HOT HUMID houston on a no wind day. Which is fine for me, but poor old wuffo slappie *duck* better go with the bigger canopy....Lisa, you got a 210 in that arsenal of canopies?
ok anyway Hooknswoop and myself are going, TequilaGirl is going as of a week ago :P. She will probably fly, but I'm pretty sure Derek and I will be riding with rgoper. If that doesn't work out we will also drive so I can bring the tent and stuff.
Ok I'm going to run and hide before Slappie hunts me down and kills me.

Once I've registered for summer classes, I'll have a better idea if I can make it or not. Isn't it like a 20-some hour drive there from here? I'm going to try my hardest to get out there, so we'll see what happens. :)"Give me one ping and one ping only..."

18.5 actually per mapquest.
That is with an average speed of ~60 mph. If we go in the RV the only stops we will make is for gas since none of us smoke and the potty is on board. Even if only Derek and I drive the mustang, I'm almost positive we will get there faster *evilgrin*, and same rules will apply only stops are for gas.
Also I know they must take the slowest time possible cause it says Houston to Fargo ND 1300 miles 24 hrs. I by myself with taking a nap did it in 20 hrs, this includes having to take 2 lane roads threw Kansas. So Eloy 1100 miles will definitely take less the 18 hrs if it is all interstate.
Anyway I was thinking more along the lines of 16 hrs, that is by car anyway, not sure about travel time with an RV.
