The TV says the Pilot of the Cesna is dead best wishs to his/her family. Does anyone know if they use there own plane, or do they use the DZ's plane? I mean did they jump an otter or a skyvan?

I just called Eloy, they said Miranna's cesna and porter colided after everyone was out. The porter went down. bummer!!!

The Porter belongs to the USAPT.... not the DZ..... The DZ has a Cesnna and a King Air as of last winter. I hope this is just another quick and incorrect blurb on the death....

There are actually like 5 planes the Knights use and there are way more Knights then most people know... The comp teams are just a small fraction of the Knights.

I heard from a mechanic in the hangar next door that the Knights leased plane landed safely butv the othe plane went in. As far as I'm concerned, it is still a rumor.

I just returned from Eloy on Tuesday and several of the Knights were there Sunday and Monday. Furthermore, the Swiss team has been training as well using Army aircarft. My prayers to those invovled in the accident. Sure shows how life has it's own way.

I somehow missed this post earlier. Anyway . . . I heard that *Cheryl Stearns* was on that Knights load and was already under canopy at 3500 when she heard commotion on the ground.
The news report pissed me off, because they didn't make it CLEAR that she was ALIVE for quite a while.

MARANA, Ariz. (AP) — An airplane used by the Golden Knights military parachute team collided with a civilian plane during a practice jump near a rural airport Friday, a military spokeswoman said.
The military pilot was killed, said Lt. Col. Marian Hansen. The four parachutists had jumped from the plane before the collision.
The turboprop used by the skydivers crashed into a dry riverbed a mile north of the Marana Airport. The civilian plane, a Cessna, landed safely, said Keith Holloway, a spokesman for the National Transportation Safety Board. The NTSB and the military were investigating.
The Golden Knights, the Army's parachute team, are based out of Fort Bragg, N.C., but had been conducting training at the Marana Airport, about 20 miles north of Tucson.
The military pilot was identified as Lowell K. Timmons. His hometown and age weren't immediately released.
