PalmettoTiger 1 #1 March 19, 2002 Some of you have seen the true-color poster of the Earth that has no clouds or anything; here is a VERY large digital version. The file is over 2 MB, and something like 8,000x4,100 resolution. If you've got the connection to handle it, it's stunning. (I never thought New Jersey would be so green.)PTigerI'm stepping through the doorAnd I'm floating in a most peculiar way

AndyMan 7 #3 March 19, 2002 You con't trust the colors on these space pictures. They're not taken with traditional cameras. They're "taken" with assorted kinds of radar imaging, the satalites simply collect computer data.Later supercomputers create an image that looks sorta like the planet, but colors are up to the interpretation of the programmers. As an example, I'm pretty sure Alaska would be snow covered. Or a better example, I'm pretty sure the northern part of Hudsons Bay - that big ass piece of water in the middle of Canada, isn't fluroescent green.Still very cool._AmICQ: 5578907MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfeYahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
