freebird 0 #1 March 20, 2002 I have been in the process of going through test to see if I can donate my kidney to my boyfriend. I thought I was not going to be able to do it. Now the transplant team thinks I will make a good donor. I have sacrificed my jumping until after the transplant is over. I will take 8 weeks to recover frome the surgery of having my kidney sawed out of me.I am ordering a Javelin container (pink and purple) custom to fit my small frame. My plan is to get the rest of the gear ( a Sabre 2 135 and PD 126 reserve) this summer and retrain on about 6 to 7 student jumps. I will retrain my basic safety skills, paying close attention to the canopy control lessons. I do have my A license, but I feel it is in my and other jumpers best intrest if I get a little refresher course. I will enjoy my jumps more with my own rig. I will commit to jumping at least once a week weather permitting.I really miss jumping. Jumping is not as fun when renting has to be part of the dive. I will have my beautiful container before the surgery. It will give me incentive to get well. I hope to be jumping regularly by this fall. Skydiving is a dream that I can make come true. Not just of skydiving itself, but a dream of finding my true self through this incredible sport. I want to just thank skydiving and let ** it** know how I truly respect what it is.Freebird......The longer you wait ........the more sense you get.
