Tornado!

Recommended Posts

a tornado came through the little town i live in near brenham, and austin and destroyed my roof on my house, it picked up a 30' X 30' steel garage, ripped it off of the foundation and sent it skyward 1800' intact, until impact with the ground. there was 2" X 2" square aluminum tubing stuck in the ground 4' in spots, the building is a total loss. my wife's jeep grand cherokee laredo was in the garage at the time, the building NEVER touched it.......go figure, we still can't believe it. it tore the shingles off of my roof down to the bare decking. bad weather is a trip! the good thing is, we're all alive, and material things can be replaced. i find myself being materialistic at times, maybe this will "ground me" it hurts to go home and see everything you've worked so hard for destroyed, but we got insurance! (yes, there is a god!) the san antonio area supposedly had the bad weather to, anybody know about it? i'm still on my drilling rig near clay, texas, and don't get to watch a lot of t.v. just what i hear from my employees when they come to work every twelve hours. i'm thankful that no one was killed, or injured.

I feel sorry man, that must have been awful, thankfully no one was injured.
Now, sorry but I can't help this:
You know you are a redneck if...
You start a thread at dz.com telling about the twister that destroyed your 30'x30' garage (I think they are called barns) and left your pickup undamaged.

WTFRULDH4?

Is this "What the F*%# are you looking down here for?"
Sorry I'm slow and proud of myself for finally (maybe) figuring it out after looking at it for two days wondering... :D

Good to hear your ok. Do you know what part of Austin was hit? My sister lives northwest of Austin but hasn't called about the tornado.

i have no information on whether it did any damage in austin or not. i just used austin as a general reference to where i live, because no one has ever heard of giddings, texas. except the folks at lexington sky dive. which is 17 miles to my north. it did touch down in giddings, and tore up a lots of people's property, homes, etc...luckily, no loss of life.

I am glad your wife is ok.... what about the little Austrailan Shepherd you used to have?
Try to be good Richard!!
I am glad everyone is ok and lwt me know who replaces your roof. Right now I am in the market for all skydivers who know how and who can enjoy a beer and pool at the end of the day.

Thanks, really.........she's fine. we have a local contractor replacing the roof today (i hope) i'm still on the drilling rig, and my wife is attending her classes today in b/cs. it's unbelievable that the wind has so much power, it picked up an 8000# building and completely removed it, but never even touched her car.....go figure. i'll tell her you inquired, again, thanks.....
