Billy 0 #1 March 21, 2002 My Daughter an I went and did some shopping today ta get some shorts and T-tops for her for our trip to AZ,, after I dropped her off driving home I witnessed an accident on the freeway,, the roads were dry this afternoon but there was Ice underneath all the overpasses,, biggest snowfall of the year earlier this AM.. I was westbound.. a lady out in front of me lost control going underneath an overpass and spun 90 degress to her left, then she crossed the meridian, got a lil air and got hit by a car going eastbound,, he spun 180 and came out the other side a the underpass and got airborn, crossed both lanes the hwy and just missed hitting me,, ( Actually it was my skill as a driver that kept me from hitting him!) and came to stop 40 yrds off the hwy on the northeast side,, when I stopped I was on the west side of the underpass,, the lady that started it was fine,, so me an another dude went to check on the other car,, we were in the middle of the hwy hiding behind the cement overpass cuz cars were still going 60 and hitting the ice underneath and losing it,, I was actually thinkin,, it aint over and be careful,, don't wanta get hit!!,, we waited for a break in traffic and then ran down off the embankment and under the overpass,, real slippery,, the driver of the other car was dead,, the ladies car going over the top of him,, probably died instantly, 2 others in the car were banged up,, one outside walkin around who was in the back seat,, and the passenger in the front seat ok but pinned in by the roof and damged door,, so I called work and told them I needed 3 ambulances and there was 1 fatality,, while the Hwy Patrol, Fire, and ambulances were all there another car going eastbound lost it on the ice and got stuck on the meridian,, we heard it and could see the front half his lil truck sticking up in the air.. the whole time cars were screachin brakes and then slipping,, I filled out a witness report and finally got the hell outta there!! Marc it's totally differant thing ta be there as JQ Pubic,, even if I did have a jump box in my truck there was nothing I could do,, That was my day, how was yours? An I hear it's 80 in Eloy!!BillyDon't read this shit down here,, it's nonsense,,,

indyz 1 #5 March 21, 2002 QuoteThat was my day, how was yours?Same as Clay, did my taxes. I ended up with a $360 refund from the Feds, which I though was pretty good for part-time work. I was thinking about what I could spend that on while I was doing state taxes when I noticed that one of my employers hadn't taken out state taxes! Bastards. So I come out ahead $180 or so. Not bad, but not as much as I had hoped for.--Brian

Iflyme 0 #7 March 21, 2002 Wow, Billy - that's frightening. Too often, the people there to help get hit by someone flying past... we had a flag person get hit by an 18 year old girl the other day -- seriously injured. Glad to hear you were there to help ...QuoteI tend to just not stop anymore......too much liability for me...even if I am covered under goodsam laws I dont want the hassle of a lawsuit and all that...I tend to just go on past....isn't that sad....Ya, Marc, that sucks, alright... it's rotten when you have to fear the lawyers so much that you can't stop and help someones daughter, or father, or fiance ..."Men weren't meant to rideWith clouds between their knees"Five For Fighting
riggerrob 643 #8 March 21, 2002 Pretty scary when lawyers scare you away from doing the right thing.

Billy 0 #10 March 22, 2002 Damn Marc!!Hope ya feel better ASAP!! Praying for ya bro!I don't usually stop unless it looks serious,, and since I was a witness and nearly involved I felt I had to to,, piss on the lawyer who would take a case like that!! would be a hassle but I think I'd enjoy gettin into court with one who tried to pick apart my care,, giving my opinion of him would probably get me fined for contempt tho!!Don't read this shit down here,, it's nonsense,,,
