I jump at skydive lake tahoe, just across the state line in Beckwourth CA..
Great bunch of people there, but colder than a well diggers ass at 18000' MSL in late october!
Weather-wise, I like Perris much better, kinda intimidating though, coming from such a small DZ.

Someone was saying that Tahoe closed down..... I was really bummed since I haven't been able to jump there yet. Can you see the lake from Altitude? It's pretty far, isn't it? About 30 miles out of Truckee on 89?
Grew up way to fast, now there's nothing to believe, and reruns all become a history....

Lummy, yup, you can see the lake on the ride up. Tahoe is about 14 miles south of Truckee on 89. Skydive Lake Tahoe is north of Reno, 395 north to hwy 70, south on 70 about 20 miles and you'll see Nervino airport on the right side. That's us. The DZ only closes for the winter, it just gets way to cold and miserable at altitude (and ground level, for that matter) to jump during winter. We open again the first weekend in May, weather permitting.
And Rhino, in regard to your question, the flare is much quicker here.

Asking for trouble right there... drunken (or any other mind-altered state) calls to ex's is never a good idea.

yah, I agree. don't call the ex (if it is even an issue anymore with my slow posting ass). I just recently grew a spine and refuse to give in to this anymore. My trouble was telling him he couldn't come over anymore. I will not be his booty call.

O.K. The EX is an EX for a reason. THEY SUCK and not in the good way. If you want to call an ex and hear a woman cry (not you) then call my ex and save me all the greif of trying to be nice to her. All she wants is sex (yeah right! then love and marige and kids and the end of my jumping). The 1 and only reason to go back to an ex is if they dumped you. Then you go back have make up sex and cut them away.
