SpeedRacer 1 #1 March 26, 2002 Well tomorrow is the big day!! I get to go in & sign all those papers & give the title company a big, fat, certified check!!It's weird. I don't usually believe in this stuff but today I got Chinese food & my fortune read "Your dearest dream is coming true." Weird !I'll be moving in this weekend if anyone is in Frederick MD & wants to help I will buy beer & dinner etc. This is all kinda exciting & scary!!Speed Racer"Fill your hand, you son-of-a-bitch!" SpeedRacer 1 #11 March 26, 2002 QuoteI think you should celebrate by telling us what your sig means. It's been bugging me for weeks and weeks. It's a movie quote. AggieDave guessed it right away.the movie is True Grit. Marshall Rooster Cogburn, played by John Wayne, has confronted four thieves/murderers & asked them to give themselves up. Since they outnumber him 4 to 1, the leader refuses, saying ,"That's might brave talk for a one-eyed fat man!" So John Wayne says "Fill your hand, you son-of-a-bitch!" And then he charges towards them with the reins in his teeth & a six shooter in one hand and a sawed-off shotgun(?) in the other.. Fuckin great film, if you haven't seen it, RENT IT!!Speed Racer"Fill your hand, you son-of-a-bitch!"

SpeedRacer 1 #14 March 26, 2002 If I described that scene to my ex, she would probably say. "EEeeew. A dumb, violent, GUY film!" But this is one of those few Westerns where the protagonist is actually a teenage girl.Speed Racer"Fill your hand, you son-of-a-bitch!"

PalmettoTiger 1 #16 March 26, 2002 QuoteSaturday--Rent a truck & do the big move (here's where I could use a hand)Hmm.... NYC auto show or help Speedy move. Concept cars, booth babes, and a day of relaxing vs. moving vans, sweaty men, and a day of lower back strain. So tough to decide. SpeedRacer 1 #17 March 28, 2002 OK here it is. Wednesday night, and now, for the first time, I am an owner of a portion of the Earth's surface!!I FUCKIN' DID IT!! Even growing up my folks never owned a home, we always had a landlord. So this is the first time I've ever lived in a house that wasn't owned by a stranger. Well I know, I'm raving, but it really means a lot to me.So anyway today I went in & handed in that big ol' check & signed a mountain o' papers. Now its official. I own the home I live in!!And as soon as my financial situation settles down, maybe in a month, I will FINALLY RETURN TO SKYDIVING! I haven't jumped since July. But the cool thing is, I was able to buy this house WITHOUT having to sell my gear!! And I managed to lock in a 6.75% fixed rate mortgage. So my monthly payment is only a little more than I'm paying for rent now, & probably the same as I would be paying next year!! With the tax breaks I should be saving about ten jump tickets a month!!OK gotta plan the house party....Speed Racer"Fill your hand, you son-of-a-bitch!" mountainman 0 #20 March 28, 2002 Congratulations! That is what Laura and I decided to do. She bought a house right before we got married. Just seems that renting doesn't get you anywhere, ya know?It would always seem like 5 years, thousands of dollars, and nothing physical to show for it.Well, this will really be a great investment and I'm sure you feel great. Just remember, after a year or two, you can take out that money against your house. Do I smell new gear? Congrats again and good luck!!!JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
