Oh my god you have to see the zip ties Derek brought home from work...they are big enough to go around my waist.....I can think of some fun things to do with those.
On second thought the canopy is yours for the zip ties. And Seb is first in line to be tied up. :D

To be serious for a second (I know, a foolish topic to get serious on) those things kind of scare me. They're very easy to overtighten, and if that happens, you can't get them off quickly without something like bandage shears - and even they may end up bruising or cutting you pretty seriously. I have this image of someone giving an ER somewhere a new story to tell.
Sorry about that - public service message is over. You may return to your thread already in progress . . .

I'm with Bill on this one. I watched a coworker's hand turn purple after he accidentally tightened one on his wrist. He didn't even pull on the "tail" that hard. I have a feeling that if he had pulled down really hard it would have squeezed in the skin. That's a pretty bad description, but you get what I mean. It would be lower than the surrounding skin. We barely managed to slip a pocketknife in there when it was still fairly loose. A good hard pull would have probably needed real medical attention to remove it.

Don't worry Bill, she isn't strong enough to get a zip-tie on me and I don't bother w/ them on her :-) This whole Zip-Tie thing started because I told her that at work (I am a diver at the Neutral Bouyancy Laboratory), when the dive is slow, one of our games is to zip-tie someone to a mock-up, or zip-tie their tank manifold. or fill in the blank. Ever since she has had zip-ties on the brain.
