ChromeBoy 0 #27 March 28, 2002 Sangiro how long are you going to be gone? You might miss the 100,000 post in the talkback forum. It's getting close.
Jessica 0 #28 March 28, 2002 I'm flooded with Roman memories now...the incessant "Ciao Bella," from the Italian men, the penne pasta with salmon alfredo sauce, the gelato, the endless (and I mean endless) cappuccinos, the carafes of wine, the fish with the eyeballs still intact, the hot-yet-snobbish Italian women, the mopeds zipping around in the traffic like water flowing around rocks, the smells of gas and sweat, getting drunk on sparkling wine on the roof of the hostel with some guy whose name I forget, making out in front of the bar where young Americans go to make out with other young Americans when they strike out with the Italians with another guy whose name I forget too (but who was a film student at some school in California and we preceded the making out with a drunken, earnest debate about Kubrick and whether he is sexist [me: yes; Californian film student: no]).My brother peeing on an information kiosk as I called our parents on the way home from the bar at 4 a.m., then taking a picture of my brother smiling smugly by the same kiosk the next day, visiting the Coliseum and being amused by the feral cats crouching inside the ruined pens, and getting our picture taken with guys dressed in gladiator costumes but ruining the authentic feel by talking on cell phones, renting a moped and screaming like a girl as my brother tried to kill us both, going on a "pub crawl" and taking a bunch of weak shots at a bunch of touristy bars with a bunch of Americans and a few Brits and Aussies, buying chunks of coconut and chestnuts from vendors on the street....What a great trip. We hit Pompeii and the Amalfi coast, too. Oh God, the Amalfi coast....*lost in thought again*I'm totally buzzed now. Have fun Sangiro. No, it's not updated. GrumpySmurf 0 #29 March 28, 2002 Kubrick: Sexist, who knows - but he did make some seriously funky flicks. And remember kiddies, avoid any groups of Americans in Italy this weekend, US Embassy was hinting of bad mojo possibly happening.

Rome and Venice (once you get past the smell) have to be my two favorite places in Italy. There's a vacant sign that's hanging highBut at least you're not alone
Dutchboy 0 #35 March 28, 2002 Are you going to the cultural center of the universe-> Rome, Georgia? If so you should visit Atlanta Air Sportz. If you are going to that place in Italy, that might be fun too, but I don't know if you can jump there. The DutchboyPhil's Flying Enterprises, Inc.
